Mental wellness is just as important as physical strength.

Today, we had the opportunity to host a Creativity for Mental Health workshop inside the Kaizen Wellness Center for our adaptive athletes.

Led by Shayla Hayward-Lundy, MS, LPAT, ATR-BC, RYT, this workshop provided an opportunity for our athletes to explore creativity, self-expression, and connection in a supportive environment.

At Kaizen, our mission extends beyond physical fitness. We are committed to creating opportunities that support the mental, emotional, and physical well-being of every athlete we serve.

Thank you, Shayla, for sharing your time, expertise, and passion with our community!

74 TOTAL CERTIFIED SOLDIER COACHES!

Congratulations to the graduates of our 2026 Adaptive Athlete Coaching Certification Seminar!

Over four nights, this group showed up ready to learn, grow, and become better equipped to coach, support, and empower adaptive athletes with greater understanding and purpose.

We’re incredibly proud to welcome 74 new certified Soldier Coaches into the community and can’t wait to see the ripple effect they create with the athletes, teams, and communities they serve.

A huge thank you to @wwp for continuing to power opportunities like this for the military community, and to every speaker, athlete, coach, and professional who poured their experience and knowledge into this seminar.

The certification may be complete.
The impact is just beginning.

A time was had today! Rolled my very first race and chose to do a 10k for a great cause! Had an absolute blast today and so did my shoulders😅 and idc what my friends say, hand cycling is definitely fun lol still had a concert today 😎 #spinalcordinjury #keeprolling

I had the best time participating in the Run, Ride, Roll hosted by @kaizenadaptivetraining and @teamhoytvb !
My team was amazing and included a dog! They were full of energy and boy were they fast!
Events like Run,Ride,Roll are so important because they bring awareness to the need for greater accessibility and inclusion in races and community events for individuals with disabilities.

A HUGE thank you to my incredible pushers. 💚
Your time, energy, dedication, encouragement, and willingness to be a part of my journey means more than you know.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support our 3rd Annual Team Hoyt Virginia Beach x Kaizen Adaptive Training Run, Ride & Push!

This year, we had over 90 participants come together for our 5K, 8K, and 10K. Athletes, pushers, runners, families, volunteers, and supporters all showing up for one purpose: inclusion through movement.

One of the highlights for me was getting to run with Danny, one of our Kaizen Adaptive Training athletes and a stroke survivor, for the full 10K (it was his first time in a racing chair!)
Watching our athletes continue to challenge themselves and experience what is possible is exactly why we do this.

Three years of this event, and it continues to grow because of this community.

Thank you to every volunteer, participant, sponsor, vendor, family member, and supporter who helped make today possible. And a huge thank you to Team Hoyt Virginia Beach for continuing to partner with us and share the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to cross a finish line.

Already grateful and excited for year four🇺🇸

Double feature this weekend

Saturday: We’re heading back at the old stomping grounds. Catch us at @frankandpattys from 10AM-3PM.

Sunday: We’re teaming up with @kaizenadaptivetraining to pour coffee at their 2026 Run Ride Roll! 5% of our proceeds go straight to their mission, so come fuel up for a good cause.

We will be there until 10 and then rolling the tables back at @frankandpattys until we run out of inventory.
