The only place success comes before work is in the dictionary. -Vince Lombardi

I knew right away when we were in Kona last October that John’s journey was far from over. Although I’m a sucker for a great day of spectating, what I love most about the journey are the many moments that lead up to the start line. The Sunday bike rides next to him as he completes a long training run. The home cooked meals (by John, not me LOL!) that fuel his training. The hours spent watching a Netflix series while he recovers. The list goes on…

His success this past weekend comes on the heels of a great deal of intentional work. What an absolute honor it is for me to see it all first hand and be the first one to jump into his arms to celebrate after the finish line.

This season has been one I’ll remember forever, culminating with a top 5 overall finish at Ironman Wisconsin on Sunday that punched us a ticket back to Kona for the IM World Championships in October, 2026.

👉A 9 minute PR: 8:54:46
👉All 5 of the top 5 broke the course record
👉A sub-one hour swim (2.4 miles)
👉A 2:54 marathon (this is under the Boston Marathon qualifying time!)

@jbutch29 here is to the next 396 days until we run it back in Kona. Let’s have some fun, party, and do some hard work. I’ll be by your side through it all. ❤️

Some good times with #TeamF3 teammates out exploring the Santa Monica Mountains and Ventura Beach. We’re lucky to have partnerships with some great people and companies. Big props to @iron_chipmunk @jas.chou @tom.monica.1 @krisgingras @kakistler @teamharita for being a big part of my build for Ironman Tulsa.
