SSBD recap!!!!!! every year I try to find the words to describe my experience in the But ;) and I can’t ever fully find them….😜 all I know is that i’m truly grateful to be apart of the silliest yet hardworking clowns ever putting together an area filled with surprises and lots of But stuff 🍑 for the people to enjoy! all of these clowns dedicated so much time and effort to perform and make people laugh it’s so sweet. 🙏🏼 I often feel like the grinch with my heart expanding 3x every time I get to experience it! the smiles and laughter we get from people who truly don’t experience the silly enough, that’s enough for me. 🥹

huuuge shoutout to the ginormous team who helped to build our beautiful Butwood this year! major shoutout to all of the clowns and people involved with running the shows, curating the spaces, and keeping the people happy whilst running a damn festival! it takes a village, sometimes a village of clowns even. ;) 🤡 🎪 I think they call that a circus but i’m not totally sure…

also so proud of @kaleidoscopegrace and I for building our Fanny Fashion District in Butwood! a funky flirty space for people to dress up and get silly! my heart is so full ❤️‍🔥 it went by too fast 😭🫣

boundary man, girl burn, muddy man 3.0….. whatever the hell this was it was a hell of a time! 🌪️ you get the burn you get, not the one you want or whatever blah blah blah! 😉 this was my fifth time returning )’(ome and I had the time of my life per usual 😜 yeah it was hard and weird and chaotic at times, but so is life!!!!! ✨ my life’s sense of porpoise is living it to the fullest and making memories with my friends and family as often as I can 🙏🏼 friends, family, and this one life is all we got in this very realistic world 🌎🗺️🌀 I will never get tired of this place and I remain endlessly grateful for my silly lil life ❤️‍🔥 big shoutout to @kaleycotty for being my pirate clown ride or die dust bunny partner in crime! I couldn’t have done this week without ya xoxoxo 💋🏴‍☠️❤️‍🔥🤡 #bestdayever

HUGE shoutout to @octopolisproject 🐙 for being my favorite art piece this year and an awesome sight to see/climb hehe! so much fun was had on Octopulis! this art installation will be giving back to our ecosystem as it will eventually become a man-made coral reef fixture 🪸 🐠 🐙 and that’s just the coolest thing ever!!! ✨

We get knocked down, but we get up again, ya never gonna keep us down.

This burn was the best of times, and the most challenging of times. Each year on playa is its own trip, filled overwhelming shifts in sensation and emotion, but this year that pendulum swung higher and faster, seemingly for everyone. A lot of things still feel left up in the air for what’s to come outside of that vortex, but I’m here for it, and grateful for all the unexpected twists and turns.

Accepting virtual hugs and affirmations for dopamine boosts. More memories to be shared soon

it’s like i waited 28 years to finally understand how to truly whole fully, love… me. and to find a friendship like the one i did out here in california. after years of being treated poorly/ wallowing in unhealthy relationships, i have found my pack. 🐺🐺🐺 it’s been a long time coming, but I wouldn’t change it for the world. I had to go through what I did on the east coast, and then break free to get here. i’m exactly where i need to be right now.

i leaned into trust… something i thought id never, ever have a grasp on again. and i can confirm with confidence, has been reborn within the depths of my soul and is here to stay.

s.o. to my best friend who recognized that my soulshine belongs in a space like this. and to my sister for holding space for me out on the west coast. and camp desert frogs 🐸🪩 & lost + found: thank you for letting me camp with yall even on short notice….you made me feel right at home, and that’s a very special thing, this refilled my heart and my soul.

a mustard seed of faith brought me here, i captured it and nourished it, and let the playa do the rest.

i was a new born. raw . out in the wild . overstimulated and under stars. my inner child came out and healed a bit. ⭐️ like he painted it out for me. the sun was my momma during the day, and moon at night. air was a constant. my late grandpa met me in this space and he too held me and led me through my entire journey.

if you’re reading this, it’s your sign to try it next year. It’s very special and magical I promise.

Zechariah 9:12: “Return to your fortress, you prisoners of hope; even now I announce that I will restore twice as much to you.” (God promises hope and a double return for past captivity or hard times)

Not every performer gets a whole post of their own. Sometimes they were just a little too far away, outside my line of sight, or I simply didn’t come away with enough frames to build a full set. But that doesn’t mean they weren’t bringing something special to the field.

So this one is a little collection of some of those one-offs from Petrol Circus: Ellie (@arachnaflow), Jordy (@jordysflow), Christian (@fireboy.flores), and Kaley (@kaleycotty).

Different performers, different props, different styles — but all bringing their own flavor to an already incredible show. 🔥

I wish I’d had more opportunities to photograph each of them, but I'm glad these moments found their way into my camera anyway.

And honestly, that's one of the things I love about photographing the Conclave: you can spend the whole performance chasing one moment after another, and still come away with a few unexpected gems you didn't know you had. ✨

Ah burning man. My time will come to be back home. For now I must journey and adventure else where. To everyone going to the burn this year, I hope you can be the change you wish to see in this world.
