TST 2026 recap. Still processing this one. We lost in the semifinal in target time, which might be the most gut wrenching way to go out and also part of what makes this tournament so addictive. I hate it and I love it at the same time. But working with this team is something special. Getting to work alongside people like Heather O’Reilly, Cat Whitehill, and Carli Lloyd while watching the next generation of soccer — UNC, Penn State, future pros — compete at this level is something I try don’t take for granted. And then there’s the staff. Being on the sideline with Michelle Akers and Leslie Osborne while the med team reunites for another week; there’s nothing quite like it. It tends to feel less like a tournament and more like a family that reassembles once a year and picks up right where it left off. Gutted we didn’t get the three-peat. Grateful for the week. Celebration of Life | @bretshuford Orlando, Florida Truly beyond compare… These words are what our Rev. Melissa Cooper from St. Luke’s texted me yesterday (another perfect example of Bret making connections within his peeps… as we bonded immediately and deeply, and who was integral to making this service such a success)… and I’m taking her words to heart as I fly back home to California. I hope they help you as much as they are helping me… “In many ways, today is Day 1. And it looks like you’ve spent it perfectly (re: at the Magic Kingdom) … so keep being gentle with yourself, and finding the spaces to let yourself feel all the feelings. Find the joys, feel the grief, fully let yourself be enveloped by the memories sometimes. And stay connected to your people and your grounding in it all. He’s so proud of you.” ❤️❤️❤️❤️

This weekend we met to celebrate the life of Bret. It was filled with so many tears, but also laughter, singing, deep talks, cold brew, long hugs, and Disney. All of his favorite things. He was there with us for all of it. Leading us around Magic Kingdom, playing his favorite songs at every turn. Finding every star and every sign. We will look for you in everything always now. I love you forever my dear friend. Thank you for blessing my life, and bringing new beautiful people into it, even in your passing. I love you. I miss you. Forever.
