Some cultivars just leave a lasting impression 🙇🏻‍♀️

I first tried Kirari 31 as usucha at Matcha Later, and I fell in love with it from the very first sip. Since they don’t offer this particular cultivar in powder form, I started looking for somewhere I could get my hands on one. So when I spotted this on Ms. Jacque’s corner in Hometown Café QC, it was an instant purchase. No hesitation whatsoever!!

Now, I can’t wait to revisit the cultivar that first caught my heart, this time in the comfort of my own matcha ritual 🥹 Kirari 31, the love child of Sakimidori & Saemidori 🍵

After a 12-hour shift, I came home today to a package I absolutely wasn’t expecting. 🥹🩷

I’ve been telling my sisters aka matcha besties how much I wanted to go, meet the @sarimatchabar, try and buy Sari Matcha in person plus meet @its.kellykarly and @dearjohn144 . I’ve also been wishing for @nikoru.matcha and Yame no Hana from @kamai.tea @jacqueandmatcha_ . 🍵🎀

Being in Bicol means I don’t always get the chance to go to matcha pop-ups and events in Manila, so most of the time, I just admire them from afar and quietly add the ones I want to my little matcha wishlist.

And these girls? They secretly lined everything up and bought them for me. 😭😭😭🩷🩷🫶🏻

After a long, exhausting 12-hour duty, opening that curated package felt like such a warm little reminder of how loved I am. It’s not even just about the matcha—it’s that they remembered the things I excitedly talked about, listened to all my matcha ramblings, and quietly made a little dream come true for me. 🥹

Thank you for knowing me this well especially how I need Iron lol, for indulging my little matcha dreams, and for always making me feel so loved and remembered. I’m so incredibly lucky to have sisters and matcha buddies like you. 🩷

Still my best birthday month. Ever. 😭🎀🍵
I love you all so, so much. @dorryyy.dez @dorothymero_ @helenadulnoan @tawdulnoan 🥹🩷🫶🏻

The Berry Matcha at Berry Mama marries excellent matcha from @jacqueandmatcha_’s @kamai.tea and our own Strawberry Rose compote 💕 And that’s why it’s unlike other strawberry matcha drinks you’ve had before. Just the right balance of matcha and berry flavor in every sip.

Berry Mama is at the Baguio Technohub, Camp John Hay, Baguio City 💕

Berry Mama is from the makers of @cocomamaboracay and part of The Sunny Sode Group

Hōjicha Lattes are gaining traction and there is no secret why — cacao-notes with a hint of floral makes it taste like your adult chocolate milk with so much more personality!

This roasted green tea not only tastes great, but has significantly less caffeine than matcha because it is made with primarily stems with a mix of tea leaves. 🍂

A perfect tea latte to drink from day to night, and also the perfect introduction drink to your friends who are not into matcha just yet! 😉

Available in both Subic Bay and Quezon City, iced or hot, or even try the strawberry version that tastes like the Apollo chocolate from childhood. 🍓

@kamai.tea’s Yame Hojicha Powder! it’s a medium roast that’s very nutty and comparable to some dark roast hojichas that ive tried in the past. Has that toasty flavor and almost has a mild sweetness to it, i think! Overall rly enjoyed this!! (will now charge my scale regularly so i can get mi ratios on point heh)

happy monday! #hojichalatte☕️ #hojicha

This day of “love,” indulge me to share with you what it feels like being with my partner, quite similar to how I’ve grown to loving Yame 03 from Kamai Tea / Jacque and Matcha.

I held back for so long from writing something about him, much like I held back from reviewing this matcha. I didn’t want to simplify it, nor give hype to something I wanted fully for myself. This love, I wanted to keep private, away from the scrutinies of a (sometimes) cruel world. Maybe, in a way, that's selfish of me.

But if there’s anything this love has taught me over the years of being together, it is to give without expectations of return, be patient without keeping score, and to be able to exist as a whole person. It has taught me that depth does not need to be loud to be real and that consistency can be more intoxicating than intensity.

Perhaps what drew me in was not the kilig or excitement, but the consistent presence, not overwhelming at first encounter, but inviting enough to allow you to stay longer to appreciate its complexity.

Its aroma sits somewhere between wet and dry, with a clean entry. It carries a creamy medium body with nutty notes expanding through the mid-palate, reminding me of castañas on a comforting Christmas morning. The finish is long, savory, rich with umami that lingers without turning bitter. There was no performance. It revealed itself slowly, asking to be understood, not consumed.
