Imagery and influence.

Some handshakes money can’t buy, and neither can the image you carry into the room before you ever say a word. People decide what you represent before you open your mouth. That’s not fair, but it’s real, and it’s exactly why it’s on us.

As a community, raising our level isn’t about impressing anybody. It’s about control. Control of how we’re seen, control of the story being told about us, control of the image we put into the world instead of letting the world write it for us. When we own that, we don’t just show up in rooms, we shift them.

Influence isn’t given. It’s built, one image, one handshake, one standard at a time. Raise the level. Own the image. Then watch how much of the room starts moving your way.

Streets to the Suites. Proof over promise.

🤔If you were honest with yourself, would you admit you’re struggling to trust God?

You can have the audacity to believe all things are possible for God to do for somebody else…

you can have confidence + bang on heaven’s door for someone else’s miracle…

all while your own heart is wondering…

“Is he REALLY gonna come through FOR ME?
Am I just as deserving of getting my hopes up?”

When this question is stirring in our soul + we feel stuck, shame loves to make us feel embarrassed for having feeble faith…

and fear loves bullying us into thinking we just need to strive harder to stop feeling scared.

But what if God is simply looking for our honesty instead? What if he actually welcomes our weakness so he can provide the strength we’re actually in need of?

Whenever you find yourself feeling anxious about the future, it’ll not only do your soul some good to remember all God has already done in your life + for others, but also recognize the present moment is an opportunity for you to grow in building your own history with God.

It’s a chance for him to show you in real time + in a fresh way just how trustworthy he is.

You don’t need to put your hope in outcomes, but in the Author + Finisher of your story who already penned every high + low to work together for your good!

So get your hopes up, friend, and lift your head. Those who put their trust in him are NEVER put to shame.💖

👀Let’s face it: hustle culture is running us RAGGED😰

🗣DO MORE!
🗣🗣PUSH HARDER!
🗣🗣🗣GO FASTER!

This is what society screams at us as the way to make it to the top, and unfortunately, this messaging has seeped into our educational system.

We’ve treated ourselves + our kids more like machines than people—expecting maximized results with minimum input and little to know room for a reboot.

I’ve long wondered if part of why our country’s traditional educational systems are crumbling is because part of its design from the jump was to produce human-doings rather than flourishing human beings.

And while our family’s choice to break away from that system to forge a new path via homeschooling, I’m seeing how much of the culture’s programming IN ME has to be set aside for us to have a learning experience that values our humanity just as much as it values academics + growth.

Homeschooling is meant to produce freedom, not slavery.

It’s meant to help us, alongside our kids, grow into the healthiest versions of ourselves.

What’s your take on how we can help kids to flourish? How can we honor our limits while still aiming for greatness?

😅I used to think it was all on ME to make God’s plans for my life happen.

When you hear🗣️”God wants to use you!🗣️God’s got a plan for your life!” BUT have a heart of people-pleasing to earn love (like I did🙋🏾‍♀️😅), you can mistakingly take that to mean your usefulness to God is primarily tied to your efforts + what you can do FOR him.

Right up there with prosperity preaching are its baby cousins: the gospel of hustle + manifestation.👯‍♀️

😍”See it? Want it?”

🪄”Name it, claim it & it’s yours.”

🏃🏾‍♀️”Grind ‘til you’ve got it.”

The sneaky thing about these voices is that they sound good and well-meaning, but at their core are rooted in YOU doing the most to make something of yourself…

(which actually just sounds more American than the true Gospel🫠🫠)

and the longer I walk with Jesus, the more I’m seeing life is about trusting he’s the Good Shepherd that knows the good plans he has for me, and he’ll make me into who I’m supposed to be.

I don’t have to “make it happen.”

I’m off the hook of trying to manifest my destiny.

😌And I can rest in the security of the reality that I am deeply loved by the God who made me, and that love can’t be earned by my goodness or performance.

Yes, there is work I get to do, but that’s in partnership WITH God—for my good, the good of there + for his glory, not my own.

If we have an obsession over what the future holds + are constantly consumed with concern over what’s next, we can’t fully enjoy the blessing of today, and that may actually expose we’re living in more fear than we’d like to admit.

God doesn’t need you to figure it all out.
He already did.

God didn’t ask for you to make something of yourself.
He’s molding + shaping you.

All he’s inviting you to do is trust him, that he’s got your highest good in mind + is patiently working all the details together toward the dream he has for you.💖

If your “be a better Christian” checklist was working…you wouldn’t feel so heavy, confused or disconnected.

You don’t need to try harder or consume more information…

🦋You need TRANSFORMATION.

If we’re honest, a lot of us are stuck…
😩trying to understand the Bible
🥴in the same thought patterns
💔carrying things we’ve never actually processed
😔and wondering why we still don’t feel free

This is the part of faith no one’s really teaching you how to walk out. But I’m hoping to fix that.

🌹FLOURISH is a discipleship community I’m starting to help women actually LIVE what they believe.

🔥HOT TAKE: Not everything you’re suffering is God’s doing.👀

🥴Some of it is your flesh.
😈Some of it is spiritual resistance.
🌱And some of it is just the cost of growth.

But if we don’t discern the source,
we’ll build resentment toward the wrong One.

😩What happens when life doesn’t unfold the way you planned it would?

When you did “everything right”…
and still feel behind.
Still feel overlooked.
Still feel like you missed something.

Sometimes it’s formation.

We don’t always run from God loudly. Sometimes it’s in the drift of quietly talking ourselves out of trusting Him.

7 years ago, God nudged me to start podcasting.

I was in my bag, but after a while, I slowed and then completely stopped….why??

It’s one thing for the devil to get in your ear. But it’s a whole ‘nother thing to be so used to entertaining shame’s taunts that you become your own biggest op.

It’s taken a longgg while for me to get to the place of actually believing the truths God has to say about me.

And while there are still parts of my heart in need of convincing, I’m unwilling to continue missing out on the goodness God has for me on the other side of my obedience.

So here’s to picking up the mic again,
to having nothing but an honest heart and holy audacity to show up authentically as myself.🎉🎉

I hope you’re in for the ride.😜
