Join us for an engaging conversation about what it means to leave an insular ultra-Orthodox community like Chabad-Lubavitch, what it takes to forge a self-determined path beyond a black-and-white world, and how Footsteps supports those navigating this challenging process. There will be light refreshments and an opportunity for Q+A. Register to attend via the link in our bio.

We're getting wild and letting out our wiggles at KSK, as we've started our fall Creative Movement residency with Esther from @bwayboundkids! Through this programming, children learn about all of the ways they can move their bodies; we can stretch, move to the beat, and even tell stories. This is Esther's third year at KSK, and we absolutely LOVE the joy and energy she brings to our classrooms!

Come bake challah with us! 💙🍞

We’re so excited to bring The Kid in Blue community together for a joyful evening of challah, wine, connection, and conversation in Brooklyn.

Led by the wonderful Julia Bretschneider (@jbbakes_), we’ll learn how to braid our own challah, enjoy a glass of wine, and spend some time connecting while the challah bakes.

You’ll also get to hear more about The Kid in Blue and the stories we’re working to bring to life.

Tickets are $25 per person, and all proceeds support our upcoming NYC shoot.

Additional donations are also welcome through our crowdfunding campaign, where you’ll receive perks based on your donation amount.

📍 Brooklyn, NY
📅 Wednesday, October 14
🕖 7:00–8:30 PM
🎟️ $25/person

We’re also currently looking for people in the NYC area who may be interested in sharing their story and experiences with Jewish identity in an interview for the film this fall. If that sounds like you, or someone you know, we’d love to hear from you. 💙

Come solo, bring a friend, or invite someone you’ve been meaning to spend time with. We’d love to have you there.

You’ve probably never seen a synagogue look like this. 🪩✡️

Three years after October 7, 150 of us came together inside a Brooklyn synagogue to dance.

To make space for grief. To celebrate life. To reconnect with each other. To remember that even in the hardest of times, joy is something worth fighting for.

Jews from across denominations, backgrounds, and beliefs, coming together on one dance floor.

We Will Dance Again. And tonight, we did. ❤️

Deep gratitude to everyone who made this gathering possible.

✨ Our incredible artists:

We will keep dancing. 💙

Yesterday we had our first music class with Keb from @tkiyamusic! Children joyfully jammed out, enjoying scarves and shakers. We are excited to partner with Tkiya for music education this year, their commitment to teaching about Jewish life and values helps enrich the ongoing work in our classrooms. We're looking forward to a year full of dance moves and catchy tunes!

Rabbi Oliver and Rabbi Dardashti from Brooklyn, New York go head to head discussing the festival of Sukkot as 'Optimum Vulnerability’. Rabbi Dardashti emphasizes the importance of humility in spiritual life. She shares a Hasidic legend that highlights our duality: "We should have in our pockets two pieces of paper which remind us both of our ultimate vulnerability and of the fact that the world was created for us." This balance of humility and pride is a recurring theme in her work, especially as she prepares for the upcoming festival of Sukkot. Starting strong in Brooklyn! 🇮🇱

A big shoutout to our Brooklyn Shaliach, Yuval Linden, on his first event of the year!
As Israel heads toward upcoming elections, Yuval sat down with Israeli politics expert Ken Bob for a conversation about the political landscape, the candidates, the key issues, and what may lie ahead.

Thank you to everyone who joined, and to the wonderful partners who helped make the evening happen: Kane Street Synagogue, J Street, and Brooklyn Heights Synagogue.
