Ever been driving 🚐 and seen a piece of silo art 🎨 that stopped you in your tracks?  Many of these massive brightly coloured silos around Australia 🇦🇺 feature the local towns, its people, landscapes, and flora & fauna 🌿 They encourage road trippers 🚐 & welcome us travellers 🧳 to stop a while and learn more about the community through storytelling Did you know there’s over 5️⃣0️⃣ grain silos & 1️⃣5️⃣0️⃣ water tower locations in every state & territory in Aus? The best part is we can access the silos 🌾 adorned with jaw dropping murals for 🆓 all year round, day or night! The sheer scale and detail of these silos 🌾 will leave you in absolute awe of the artists’ 🧑🏻‍🎨talent And if you’re like us, they’ll leave you wanting more… 🤌🏻 The Kaniva silo art standing at 29.6m high definitely stopped us in our tracks‼️ The Kaniva silo 🌾 (also known as the Geelong concrete silo) had a capacity of 2,950 tonnes & facilitated receiving/ out-loading rates of approximately 8️⃣0️⃣ tonnes per hour, before it was decommissioned in 2014 @davidleepereira.art and fellow artist 🧑🏻‍🎨 Jason Parker created this masterpiece in October 2020 It features an Australian 🇦🇺 hobby falcon 🦅along with scented sun & salmon sun orchids 🌸 The artwork is a tribute to native flora & fauna 🌳 found in the nearby Little Desert National Park 🌿 The silo took more than 2️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ hours straight (through the elements, the cockatoo attacks & rain) to complete; and used about 4️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ litres of paint TIP: 💡Download the latest Silo Art Trail @siloarttrail map from the kaniva.org website Why not check out some silo art on your next adventure… 🚐 #kaniva #kanivasiloart #davidleepereira #australiansiloarttrail #siloart #siloarttrail #travelguide #travelcouple #travelaustralia #fulltimetravelcouple #contentcreator
