Had a great time reconnecting with some former colleagues and friends from the arts community at the Calgary Folk Fest Nooner today.

Looking forward to introducing my daughter to her first Folk Fest and having a bit of down time with the family (not too much though!).

Great services make a city livable but the arts makes a city worth living in.

The 6 of us got together to make a giant, wearable light up mystery bird in only 5 weeks. What a fantastic ride the last 3 months have been! I'm so greatful for the amazing people I've met through this wonderful residency thanks to @iaaccyyc and @fuse33calgary. I couldn't have asked for a better group of artists to learn and make with! We made a hilarious bird costume that nearly destroyed my brain with exhaustion and I'm so glad to have been part of it (as someone who hates group projects I'd do another one with these wonderful people as soon as we've all rested in a heart beat) I feel like I have a new community of like minded people I can call friends thanks to this amazing space and the members who use it. I wouldn't have been able to create what I did without many of them helping along the way. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

Support these spaces if your able to, they're essential to artists, makers and community!!

Before National Volunteer Week comes to a close, we want to thank our talented Board of Directors for their tireless efforts this year.

This group of stellar volunteers have been directing the helm of the Folk Festival Society of Calgary with grace, flexibility, and creativity - all over Zoom!
