August was the cherry on top of an already amazing year!

From nights in the backcountry, to skydiving with friends for the first time, to celebrating a wedding of a dear friend, running with friends in the mountains & finishing the month off seeing Noah Kahan live, it will be hard to top this month.

This month was a reminder to myself that life is based upon how you choose to look at & live it. Hard times build character, integrity and test who you truly are when things are stripped away. Without the hard times, you wouldn’t be able to savor the really phenomenal times. No matter how hard life may seem, there will always be a moment when you fall in love with LIVING again.

enjoyed the most adventurous weekend with my cousin @karina.b.wild including this ~16 mile hike with nearly 7,000-feet elevation gain 😮‍💨 sunshine, steep climbs, mountain goats, alpine lakes and the most refreshing dip!

not shown: van life, no cell service, post-hike hot tub and cold plunge, and a really delicious pizza

Got a PR at the Capital City Half Marathon!
🏃🏼‍♀️13.1 miles in 1:55:04✨ This is a 9 minute improvement from last years race. This didn’t just happened. This was a full year of being consistent, showing up (even when I didn’t “feel like it”), and pushing myself to work hard. It’s crazy to see such an improvement in just a year and really makes me feel like i have something to show for all that hard work.

But I didn’t do this alone. I would have never gotten here without all the people I have ran with in the last year plus (you know who you are). I have the best group of friends who push me, hold me accountable and encourage me to show up and do my best. I literally would not run without these people, so thank you.

Race day was perfect, I was surrounded by the same people I have surrounded myself with all year and they showed up just as they always do. Not only my fellow runners, but the amazing cheerleaders we had yesterday as well. Y’all make the whole experience 1000% better and enjoyable.

Lastly, thank you @whatbrennadoes_ for the amazing photos (and so much more). We don’t even need to wait for the official race photos to be posted because yours are better for sure 💜
