Still working on my Gelli plate techniques but still at least today I realised that I have lots of lovely dies that I can use as masks. I also watched some @karismixedmedia YouTube videos which were full of great tips. Thanks Kari 😊

The Festival of Quilts

More lace paper experiments, this time with a sewing machine. I used tissue, dress patterns, dictionary pages and napkins then added a little Distress Ink. I used my industrial machine which has a huge honkin’ leather needle in it and thread like kite string but I didn’t want to change everything because I’m in the middle of making tote bags out of a giant billboard for a media company. I might borrow a regular machine from the library because that somehow seems more convenient than dragging my own out of the closet. Yes, I’m THAT lazy.

Huge thanks to @karismixedmedia for the inspiration!

Last term’s printmaking group with their finished linocuts! Everyone had loads of fun and chats creating reduction linocuts of the one and only Vincent Van Gogh ☺️

Take a look through to see some photos and videos of the reduction process, it’s awesome to see the layers build. Linocutting is definitely one of those processes you can easily lose track of time with. There is something so calming about the carving process.

If you would like to learn how to create linocut prints of your own, we have a day workshop coming up in April. Click the link in our bio for more info!

I recently purchased a Vintage Christmas book at a yard sale and was inspired by @karismixedmedia ‘s YouTube video to create some booklets, pockets, and tags with pockets.
.
After a little more embellishing, some of these pieces will be added to a Christmas Flowish Junk Journal, on which I’m currently working. 🎅🏻😃
