Luke won’t die a grey white belt guys 🤣 We got to promote him to solid grey yesterday at 10 round Tuesday, after 6yrs at grey/white! In NoGi because he’s that NoGi guy lol. He’s been putting in the work this year, even though his focus is tackle football, and helps out a lot with the little kids and preparing the competitors. He actually has a blast when he grapples, so well deserved son, love you so much.

Hay canciones que no solo se escuchan; se habitan. 🎶✨Esta canción me transporta a otro nivel.

Cada vez que suena School de Supertramp, algo en el ambiente cambia. Es como cruzar un umbral invisible: el tiempo se detiene, la mente entra en un estado de trance y meditación profunda, y de repente me encuentro en un sitio de felicidad y recuerdos que no sé cómo describir.

La música es ese vehículo espiritual que nos reconecta con lo esencial. Por eso grandes pensadores coincidían en lo mismo:
Platón: “La música es para el alma lo que la gimnasia para el cuerpo.”
Confucio: “Produce un tipo de placer que la naturaleza humana no puede dejar de disfrutar.”
Nietzsche: “Sin música, la vida sería un error.”
Y no puedo estar más de acuerdo.

Our kids have grown up around jiu-jitsu.

We’ve always encouraged them to train, but we’ve also tried to give them space to explore other things and discover what they love. For our family, jiu-jitsu has never been about demanding full-time commitment. It’s always been more like a shared practice, something we return to for fun first.

Over the last 10 years, I’ve watched their discipline build slowly, their confidence grow naturally, and their sense of empowerment come from learning how to solve problems under pressure…and constantly fail and start over.

Lately it’s been really fun watching them grow into their bodies and into their own love for it and sometimes hate it too, but they’re actually trying to submit me now, which is awesome.

There’s something deeply human about grappling. Most mammals do it. Play fighting, testing balance, learning boundaries. It’s one of the oldest ways we bond, and somehow we don’t explore it enough as adults.

Don’t be surprised if you sign your kid up and end up wanting to try it too. If you feel the call, do it. It might end up being something you grow into together. #jiujitsu #bjj #grappling

Today I turn 40 >>> Time travel carousel ⏰🎠

Looking through these photos feels like opening little windows into all the lives I’ve lived so far.

The little girl who was curious about everything, the teenager trying to understand where she belonged, the mom who threw herself fully into every dream she believed in to make something of herself, the grappler who learned to fall, get back up, and keep going anyway.

Some chapters were joyful, some were confusing and some were harder than I ever expected.

But every version of me was doing the best she could with the awareness she had at the time.

And somehow all of those versions led me here. A woman who has learned that life rarely unfolds the way she planned, but there is always beauty in the unfolding.

If there’s one thing these four decades have taught me, it’s that becoming never really stops.

40 doesn’t feel like an ending. It feels like new beginnings, with a little more wisdom, a little more courage, and a lot more gratitude.

Thankful for the love that has been part of this story so far.

The best is yet to come
