5 things I’ve been learning as I continue stepping into a senior role in marketing and in my career. 🌸

1. You have to believe in your vision before any client believes in you. How can you expect someone to trust your direction if you don’t even trust yourself? Clients can see straight through a lack of confidence. If you don’t back yourself, you’ve already lost them.
2. Clients care about one thing: how you’re going to grow their business. They want a clear strategy, a solid plan, and results. This isn’t just marketing, you’re responsible for someone’s life’s work, something they’ve spent years building. It’s a responsibility you can’t take lightly.
3. Marketing isn’t a typical 9–5. The more you grow, the bigger the responsibility. You’re constantly switched on, thinking about campaigns, trends, ideas, and solving problems. Some days are shoots, meetings and client work back to back. Even when you’re off, your brain usually isn’t because anything can go wrong any minute. So some days you’ll finish at 10pm and some at 1pm, it’s never the same.
4. It’s worth the sacrifice. There’s nothing better than bringing someone’s vision to life with a team and creating work that not only looks good but actually converts. Seeing clients genuinely happy because you’ve helped bring their goals to life makes all the hard work worth it.
5. This industry isn’t for the weak. You’re constantly being tested by clients, your team, your bosses and yourself. You need to handle pressure, think ahead, adapt quickly, and never stop learning because this industry never stands still, and again you’re dealing with real people, real money and real businesses.

We took the team away for two days of intensive workshops and skill building. Not because it looked good on the website. Because better people doing better work is what we’re betting on. And something happened that mattered just as much: everyone who showed up, actually showed up.

If you want to know who’s genuinely committed to growth in your organization, invest in it. The ones who engage, who lean in, who ask how to apply it... those are your keepers. The ones who don’t. Well. Now you know. That’s worth far more than the cost.

Over 30 shoots across Melbourne and Sydney, new clients, launch campaigns, activations, podcasts, interstate trips, drone pilot exam, all before kicking off our biggest summer project: A.O.

Massive month. Huge output. Less sleep. Grateful we made it.
