Congratulations to our Teacher, Selvi Kashmia Balabaskaran, and Senior Student, Selvi Kuberaka Kumareswaran, on being honoured with the title:

✨ “NAATYA KALAAJOTHI” ✨

Our sincere thanks to Vijayakumaran Iyer and Varisithi Vinayagar Temple for recognizing and celebrating emerging talent. This recognition reflects their continued dedication to supporting the Toronto Bharathanatyam community and nurturing the next generation of artists.

At Kalai Aruvi, we are especially proud to have nominated students who have completed their Arangetram and remained dedicated to our academy for many years, continuing to teach, mentor younger students, and contribute to our growth.

We are also proud to recognize our Senior Teacher, Smt. Koushika Lukas, and Senior Student, Selvi Brinthavi Sivarajasingham, who were also nominated for this honour.

To make the evening even more special, our junior students had the wonderful opportunity to perform as part of the celebrations.

Congratulations to all the students who received this honour!

The strongest testament to our work is the endorsement of our parents. Dance classes aren’t about joining and stopping, or joining and then having to move around. It’s about having a stable environment that cultivates your child’s growth over the next 15+ years.

If this is something you are looking for in your artistic journey, join us this Vijayadasami! 🪷

Every piece of this journey had its own purpose.

After opening with power and moving through reflection, I wanted to leave the audience with something they weren’t expecting.

This surprise ending was all about joy, celebration, and reminding us that every story deserves to end with a smile.

Thank you for coming on this journey with us. 🤍

“We are the sweet fruits of the ancient seed.”

Those lyrics stayed with me long after I heard them for the first time. They speak to something so simple, yet so powerful - that we’re all connected to the people who came before us, to the earth beneath us, and to the roots that continue to shape who we become.

There was something about Dhee’s voice that made every word feel so grounding. It carried exactly the emotion I wanted this part of my piece to embody.
