The best inspiration sometimes comes home in your camera roll… ✨

Our client walked through our doors with a photo from their overseas travels and asked us to bring it to life for their dream home. Challenge accepted!

We had so much fun creating this little prototype, working through the details and bringing their vision one step closer to reality. From overseas inspiration to something made just for them. 🤍

LOWER PLENTY | THE CONSERVATORY

Originally an outdoor courtyard, this space was enclosed and transformed into a conservatory, extending the home’s internal living area.

The conversion involved building within the existing courtyard footprint to create a new enclosed space that integrates with the surrounding home.

Another substantial component of the Lower Plenty renovation, delivered as part of the wider residential works.

There’s something undeniably luxurious about letting nature take the lead.

Farmers Clear celebrates the beauty of natural timber, allowing every grain, tone and organic detail to take centre stage.

Naturally beautiful. Distinctively Farmers. 🤎 ✨

One of the most transformative changes by @katewalker_design was the introduction of steel windows and doors to the back half of the house in October 2025.

Previous owners had enlarged the original windows to bring in more natural light, but access to the garden was still limited to a single south-facing door. These images focus on our “Breakfast Room” (because every house needs a room just for breakfast) and the more seamless connection we now have between indoor and outdoor living spaces.

Guess some journeys really do come full circle.

Sitting halfway across the world, watching something unfold that I dreamed about as a little boy, is difficult to put into words.

When we migrated to Australia in 1998, we settled in Mornington. There was one incredible home I would regularly walk past on my fishing trips. I remember standing out the front, looking at it and telling myself, “One day, I’m going to own that house.”

Well, I’m not going to own it.

But years later, I got to walk through its doors and, in some small way, become part of its story.

To contribute to the beauty and future of this home means more to me than I can explain. A little part of me now lives within those walls — at least until somebody decides to redecorate it one day.

For now, I’m going to enjoy this moment.

It represents years of perseverance, hard work, adversity, some tremendous lows, getting back up, dusting yourself off and continuing forward without always knowing where it will lead.

This project is an astonishing personal milestone for me.

To watch our team work tirelessly alongside Kate Walker Design to help create Kate’s forever home has been something very special.

Kate, thank you for trusting e Moderno to create one of the key lighting pieces for this extraordinary home. We are deeply honoured and forever grateful.

And to my team — thank you for showing up, working hard and helping achieve something that, for me personally, started as a little boy standing outside this very house dreaming.

Full circle.
