Thank you to my beautiful, wonderful friends & family for throwing us the most gorgeous baby shower last month! 🥰 It was a perfect day and we couldn’t be more grateful for all the love & support in our lives as we embark on this new chapter 👶🏻✨

I’m so lucky to have such generous and talented women in my life. 🙏🏻 Thank you forever to besties @katharineeames @youknowjayme @lahokie @alexabrown12123 - my planning committee dream team! You helped in every way - no detail missed!! Love yous. 🩷 My OGs since childhood @monetsays for making the trip and for the beautiful signs, and @erikakennedygibson for flying out here just for the afternoon like a boss!! I love you! 💛My flower queen friend of all time @midsummermother - thank you, you beautiful genius 🌸 My wonderful work-wifey @lilylewis for the cheese board to end all other cheese boards 🧀 And last but not least my incredible Mom @meninatina and Aunt B for all of their help and support all weekend! The most beautiful day with my favorite gals honoring our growing gal in my belly! So thankful for the outpouring of love and support for our little family yesterday. Special thanks to @barbtoe, @howleybuilds & @becky_woode for throwing the most beautiful shower at Descanso Gardens Rose Garden, and to @jennifertrieschmann & @clurpost for flying out to celebrate.

@frankhobbs_iv and I feel so loved and supported on our journey towards parenthood and can’t wait to meet our baby girl in May! She is being named after one of her great grandmothers, Bette Jane Hobbs, and if you swipe to the last photo, you can see a brick that was donated by Frank’s family to honor her and Frank’s grandfather, Frank, that was just right outside the tent where the baby shower was thrown 🌷

Sending love to our village - we are so so lucky and blessed to have each of you!!!

Okay so I don’t think 2025 was especially great for anyone lol, but I must acknowledge that last year also brought some sweet blessings✨

Here are some of those highlights from the year~ adventures, music, nature, an amazing partner, family of all kinds, beautiful relationships I cherish, snow cats, the best kitty babies a gal could ask for, the year @theonlyshamsyouknow and I fixed not having any pics together, a trip to the motherland to meet family in Ischia, another incredible academy year (the aforementioned 2 still have their own posts coming..) but I came to feel that these things are worth posting, even late. Not to pretend everything has been wonderful but to remember why and how I keep going- my people give me strength, and little moments like these give me hope & joy. Love is our most powerful weapon against hate, and I intend to keep loving loudly with an open heart and spending the precious time we have making and sharing moments and empowering others to do the same. It’s how we keep fighting🙏🌈✨

If you’re struggling right now, you’re not alone, you’re not crazy. You’re human, and you’re paying attention. I see you, I will listen, and I will keep fighting for you, and all of us🖤🖤🖤

@__elliott.smith__ FANS, THIS ONE IS FOR YOU!!!

The track I’m spotlighting this week features @vardanovsepianmusic . His beautiful initial arrangement instinctually inspired the vocal parts I wrote to go with it. This Elliott Smith tune was already beautiful, but Vardan’s time and harmonic interpretation has a way of holding the lyric sacred. I am so grateful to share this piece of art with the world.

The BG vocal arrangement has a two voice approach, featuring @seanyfitz Sean Fitzpatrick on the chorus. The Treble vocal arrangement also features @genevieveartadi , @katharineeames , and @jessfreedmanvox. @andy.waddell plays a stunning solo too. @jerrywattsjr on bass, and @kylejeffreycrane on drums. Mixed and mastered by Ryan Pryor @phluxascent and co-produced by @johndaversa.

The second-of-two productions in our 2025 Season, IN/HUMAN: Arrivals utilizes a three-part structure to investigate our three central season questions: what is it that makes us human, how do we manage being human, and what do we hope for humanity?

Part One of the program begins upon arrival in a new world that we have yet to inhabit. Where are we now and how do we preserve our history? In Part Two, we then explore this new world and what it means for us. How might we shape this new world? In Part Three, we attempt to reckon with what we have become. Are we going to be ok? Ultimately, we ask ourselves if we truly desire to evolve, and if this new world provides that opportunity or hinders it. This program features an international collection of compositions by mostly living composers, two contemporary arrangements by L.A. Choral Lab members, and an original work by L.A. based composer Matt Brown highlighting the juxtaposition of vocals, analog vocoder, artificial intelligence, and the pipe organ.

Join us for an unforgettable choral experience that provides an opportunity to pause and reflect, share space, and create community, performed by an unparalleled ensemble of 23 exceptional singers and conducted by four of our singer-leaders: @barakamay @fletchtones @musicmanchoi & @valerietmusic ✨
