bringing together queer community ⭐️ what an absolute HONOR

I hosted my first sapphic retreat in June and the nerves hit two days before - I looked at my partner and literally said “what have I done?!” I had never hosted something like this and was terrified people would back out or not have as impactful of a time as I’d hoped… turns out those worries were unnecessary because that week changed my entire life for the better, and everyone’s lives who attended 💛

we’re all now forever friends after laughing, crying, journaling, crafting, jumping in the freezing water, drinking too much coffee, and sharing incredible meals together, and from it all In Good Company was born. like what?!

we’re already planning all of our 2027 retreats and y’all are nottt ready for what we have in store 🙈 make sure to add your name to the waitlist to be emailed first about future retreats!!! XOXOX WE CAN’T WAIT TO HANGOUT WITH YOU!!!

June was an extra fruity month!!! 🍒🥝🍋

Chopped my hair off, celebrated 3 years with my love, did so many crafts, hosted my first whimsical sapphic retreat, read queer books, and came back home to myself in so many ways 💛 a month that will forever live in my mind!!!

Queer joy!!!! 🧚🏻⭐️🌀🐚🌈 The world needs more of it!!!!

I literally wish I could bottle up the sound of this week and play it on repeat forever!!! I’ve never laughed so much in my life or felt so safe + held.

I will forever be missing this moment in time. 💛

Pride month may be over, but queer love and joy deserves to be celebrated every month, day, hour of the year. ✨

Your queerness is beautiful, your journey is uniquely yours, you are worthy of safe spaces that give you the opportunity to show up fully!!

The 11 of us showed up as strangers a week ago and walked away as forever friends - my heart has never felt so held and cherished and getting to know the journeys, hearts, laughter, depth, and dreams of this group is the biggest gift in the world.

Thank you for trusting me, taking the leap, and saying ‘yes’ to coming home to yourself 💛 you’ve changed my life forever and ever and ever!!!!!

I spent the past week cooking at a queer retreat and it was the best experience of my life.

Before this I had set cooking aside to focus on other more “practical” life paths and when nat asked me to join her in this adventure (cooking for 11 people for an entire week on an island near seattle, the day after i got back from a two week UK trip - thank you past me for pretending jet lag doesn’t exist) i never could have imagined all the ways it would change me. this trip opened me up to the idea that my passion could actually be more than just a hobby.

All i can say is thank you. Thank you to the group of strangers who are now dear friends for trusting me to nourish you. Thank you to @_thefamemonsta for being my right hand man and keeping me laughing in the kitchen.

but most of all the biggest thank you to @itsnataliecass you have absolutely changed my life and the lives of everyone else who was apart of this retreat. i am so proud of you for bringing your biggest dream to life and i’m even prouder to call you my friend. i cant wait to see where this takes you and i hope to be apart of it forever and ever.

Queer love is all around!!!! 💛 Hosting my first whimsical, crafty sapphic retreat showed me exactly how true that is and I am forever, irrevocably changed for the better.

If I could go back to the newly out me, at 25, I’d tell her that queer love isn’t *just* reserved for romantic love and this week was the perfect testament to that.

Queer love is screaming at your friends to kiss in the rain as they gaze into each other’s eyes at the beach, with no shame or fear of who might hear.

It’s letting yourself celebrate your queerness in big, full doses, because your friends give you the confidence to do so.

It’s staying at the pizza shop for hours, wine glasses empty and plates long gone, because every word that’s said around the table makes you feel seen in ways you’ve never felt.

It’s laughing so hard during game night you think you might pass out, 7 hour long playlists, feeling safe enough to fully relax, and saying “you’re not behind, your journey is perfectly yours” and truly, deeply meaning it.

What a gift that my winding (and often confusing) path led me here, to this week, to these people, to bringing together queer community. What a privilege it all is!!!!

Thank you to every single retreat goer for trusting me, showing up with your heart wide open and turning into chosen family. You’ve changed my heart in ways I can hardly even explain. 🫶🏼 Thank you to the love of my life @_thefamemonsta for literally doing it ALL - supporting me, putting out every fire, bringing her authentic energy into every room, being my right hand, and truly making this week possible. I believe in myself because you first always believe in me 💛 Thank you to my dear friend @internetfoood for nourishing us, being my calming force and sharing her kitchen creativity with us all. You are SO gifted.👩🏼‍🍳 and lastly, thank you to my mama @lkcolordesigns for helping me brainstorm for months, designing so many elements of this retreat from our t shirts to our table runner, and for providing such fun goodies for each guest!!! I love you all so much it HURTS!!!

I will never EVER get over this week 💌

spent our second wedding anniversary the only way we could— on a craft retreat on whidbey (whimsy) island with a bunch of sapphics! 🩷🤍🧡

i truly have no words for how special this retreat was. we journaled, we crafted, we puzzled, we feasted on @internetfoood’s delicious meals, we lived on crabby coffee & @sunshinedrip, we got out of our comfort zones, we danced in the sun and in the rain, we celebrated each other, we “golden-houred” the whidbey way, and happy-houred the @bayleafonwhidbey way. we cried a ton and belly-laughed even more.

these people mean so much to me, and i can’t believe we only met 5 days ago! the world needs more queer joy, and they brought me so much of it. how lucky am i!

thank you to @itsnataliecass for bringing us together— i owe you the world. whidbey’s gonna get a lot quieter without the group of us.
