You cannot wait for mom guilt to go away before you do the thing. Because it doesn’t leave first. It doesn’t clear the runway for you.

So you do the thing anyway. With the guilt riding shotgun.

And what I’ve found - both personally and in my work with moms - is that the guilt doesn’t need to be fought or fixed or resolved. It needs to be understood.

🤔 Where is it coming from?
🤔 Is it rooted in your values?
🤔 Or is it rooted in the echo of a culture that taught you that your needs come last?

So you acknowledge it.
You assess it.
You decide the pros outweigh the cons.
And then you go.

Guilty and going. That’s the new you.

One table.
An incredible spread.
And a pretty convincing reason to add @gamlinsmaplewood to your list.

Spent the evening in #Maplewood for an incredible family-style tasting, and let’s just say the Gamlins understood the assignment!

Derek & Amy Gamlin have brought their newest concept to Maplewood — a modern Italian chophouse serving up handmade pasta, steaks, fresh seafood, creative cocktails, and more!
Everything we tried around the table was SO good & the cocktails absolutely deserve their own moment, especially the Luna Viola 💜🍸

Between the food, the drinks, the beautiful space, and getting to experience it all with a table full of friends, the owners & Chef, this was one of those dinners that felt less like a meal and more like an experience.

📌 Come hungry. Stay awhile. Order one of everything. 🍽️

Gamlins🍸

The newest restaurant in STL is now open!!! @gamlinsmaplewood is an Italian chophouse in Maplewood! We tried everything on the menu and honestly, I was VERY impressed by all of it! I could eat one of their fresh pastas every single night for dinner. They had a really solid cocktail menu but they have the best spicy marg in the city and I stand by that.

It is no surprise that this restaurant is phenomenal though because it was opened by THE Gamlins of Gamlins Whisky House and @amyscakepopshopandboozybites.

Make a reservation asap! I’m already planning my next trip back!! They are also open late which is so nice and needed!
