Dude, what the freak. This year has quite literally left me speechless. Not only were the ambassadors inspiring and amazing, but my HOBY family, the staff, you continue to find new and creative ways to blow me away. I don’t think I will ever be able to capture what HOBY really does, but that breath, that life, I can feel it. And when I do, it inspires me to search for it outside of HOBY. The love I see within HOBY is out there. That life is out there. Don’t give up on that. HOBY reminds me that every year. That my existence matters, that there is hope, and all of that comes from acceptance of the challenge.

To address an elephant that has been waiting patiently in the corner throughout HOBY: it’s not looking like HOBY 2027 will be possible for me. To be clear, it’s because a once in a lifetime study abroad opportunity in Austria. Still, this crushing truth seemed to have brought a rainstorm over my head going into HOBY. I was so scared. I still am. I love these people and its effect, and selfishly I wanted to soak in every moment I possibly could, in hopes one HOBY could fill my cup twice over. But, eventually, HOBY did its thing and I let go. That is all thanks to you amazing people. For reminding me of the never ending love you exude, that there is always a seat at the table in the HOBY family, and that I can do this. HOBY has shown me the best things to happen in my life are surprising and scary and I am capable of succeeding in those environments. Thank you.

Shout out to the ‘22 squad. I love you all with my whole soul and I sense that bond to only increase as we grow in leadership and friendship together.

Lastly, I leave you with this: whoever is still reading this word vomit, please know, you have affected my wonderful life more than you could ever know. I’ve been running with the quote, “I am a mosaic of everyone I have ever met”. You are the pieces that inspire me, who challenge me, who allow myself to dare to dream. I hope HOBY is never light nor brief.

I adore you all. Continue to love.

- Faith xoxo

what a gift that the most important work sometimes happens with the silliest people

chairing our HOBY Ohio South seminar for the past two years has been one of the most difficult experiences of my life, and volunteering alongside these heroes has made it one of my greatest privileges

@katiemidd and @jacobmanser, I simply wouldn’t have done it without you

to leadership and beyond!

It was such an honor being the only Sophomore from Bishop Watterson chosen to go to HOBY. I learned so much about leadership, and I am so grateful I was given this amazing opportunity- Thank you Bishop Watterson!!🤍
