Today at West Fest is our final show with Jacob on drums 🥁

We’re incredibly grateful for the time we’ve shared together, and we wanted to take a moment to celebrate someone who’s left a real mark on Chico Detour.

Jacob joined us early on, jumped in headfirst, learned the material, and quickly became a huge part of shaping this band. He co-wrote our newest record, Wash It Down, and brought so much creativity, musicality, and intention to every song we worked on together. Whether it was adding subtle textures, leveraging his legendary percussion space station, or absolutely beating the hell out of the drums when the song called for it, he always knew what the music needed.

Jacob was also there for some of our earliest and biggest moments as a band. A lot of the memories that made Chico Detour feel real happened with him behind the kit, and that’s something we’ll always be grateful for.

More than anything, Jacob is just a damn good human. Thoughtful, curious, hardworking, endlessly positive, and always down to chase the next weird idea. He’s the kind of drummer you trust completely, and it’s been a privilege to share the stage with him.

He’s still very much making music around Seattle, so this isn’t goodbye. Keep an eye out. You’ll be seeing plenty more of him.

If you’re at Summer Fest today, come help us give Jacob the sendoff he deserves. We couldn’t ask for a better last rip together.

Thank you for everything, Jacob. We love you, brother. ❤️
@jacobwhinihan

And for everyone wondering what’s next… don’t go too far. We’ve got some exciting tour announcements coming very soon. The next chapter starts now ⚡️🔌

Our resident Lord of the Low end @nicholas_cleveland_ completed another pass around the sun this weekend 🎉🎉🎂🥳His distorted tones and moody bass lines are key to our sound. We love his nonchalant wisdom, sarcasm, and virtuosity.

Wish him a happy Birthday!! 🤘🤘🤘

𝐖𝐎𝐍’𝐓 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐘?

Snake Pit is the final track off our upcoming EP and concludes the batch of singles we are releasing before the launch of

🅦🅐🅢🅗 🅘🅣 🅓🅞🅦🅝 set to be released on May 29th via @dentapes

Ssssssssonically the track is giving surfy psych. Lyrically the track is serving s̶o̶m̶e̶t̶h̶i̶n̶g̶ different.

So what gives? What is this song about? 🌀

It’s about being inside a charged, instinct-driven environment and choosing how much of it we let into us. It’s about the proximity to chaos, awareness of influence, and self-possession under pressure.

The most 𝙙𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙨 thing in this song is the 𝙝𝙮𝙥𝙣𝙤𝙩𝙞𝙘 𝙥𝙪𝙡𝙡 into the coil 😈 . NOT the pit of snakes. WE LOVE SNAKES 🧺 🌀 WE RESPECT THE SNAKE 🐍

CATCH THIS SONG LIVE TONIGHT at @timstavernseattle w legends @sexxfaces | @toxicthrust | The Bug Nasties

And TONIGHT!!!! A special guest @mikefrazierva 🪇 🏜️

This release goes out to our beloved and dearly missed @shelleshelleshe, who is on her journey of recovery ❤️‍🩹 from a terrible foot injury. She’ll be back and at em ASAP babies.

This February marked THREE YEARS OF CRC TEEN PEOGRAMS & AMPLIFY!!!! And we celebrated with friends, chosen family, alums & special guests for an entire day filled with music, weird games, art, laughter & joy💖✨

Our bestie @transdjenter from @beautifulfreaksonline pulled up with vinyls and shirts for our young folks and jammed & connected with our crew for the entire day, hearing their experience as a young musician and watching them now be that same advocate they had for the next generation is truly inspiring✨

Jesse and FD from @plashband pulled up and jammed, and shared space with our crew and they are seriously some of the nicest folks around, even brought some Plash goodies for the teens💖✨ SOOO stoked to have the full crew up here this Saturday!!!

Our besties @shalyn_sees & @katisomphotos were there to do art, share stories, connect with our community and EVEN saved Spiderman from a wardrobe malfunction. They also did the greatest round of three headed expert with Leila I have ever bore witness to😭😅✨

The legendary @downtownkate & @missingrecords drop up to do a meet and greet with your young folks and share stories of how the Old Redmond Fire House & @veraproject got started. These two are HUGE inspirations for us and we’re really greatful to be connected with them💖

@leila.irene and I are ridiculously honored and greatful to be doing this work among so many rad and inspiring folks. Thank you all for showing up time and time again for our community and sharing moments of joy with us. It means the world💖✨Wanna know how we got started three years ago? Come to a show, we’d be stoked to sit and share💖✨

Amplify concerts exist to create inter generational community & connection through music and art. So greatful to Hollis, Henry, Michelle and Steph as well as our past and future visiting artists for investing in the lives of our young folks with your time, passion, and heart for this scene. We wouldn’t be able to create these connections without every single one of you showing up time and time again✨

Whether this would be your first time going to a DIY gig in Stanwood or your tenth, you are welcome here and there is a place for you. We will ALWAYS be a safe space for those who want to experience an all ages show in an inclusive, welcoming way. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️✨

CRYING AT MY PARTY IS CHAINED FREE TODAY!

🫠is it ballsy to release an instrumental as the first single? we don’t know and we don’t care! 🥵

OUT NOW on wherever you stream EVERYWHERE 🌱

📯 🎶 🎸 📻 Listen Up Amigitos 🎶🎸📻 📯

This is the first single off of our upcoming EP called ‘Wash It Down’ out via @dentapes 📰

That’s right folks 🎉 ! Los Chicos have joined the dentapes fam-a-lam for this one and we couldn’t be happier 😭 so we thought we’d cry about it.

⚡️🔌 CAMP is an up-tempo, insistent, and emotionally unresolved lol. The song is rooted in the late 50’s and early-’60s garage and surf traditions and nods to a lineage where simplicity was the point and taste was the test 🤌✨

Hope we passed 🤞let us know at the show!

🗓️ Come celebrate the release of this lil banger on Feb 27th at

📍@thesunsettavern

🌀 @fortyfeettall
🌀 @the_maya_experience

We’ll be playing this one live for ye with a lil special surprise 🤫

Special thanks to @ryancassidy.design 🎨 for the amazing job on the cover

💕@shibusasound for the great engineering work 🎞️
