Happy Sweetest day to all my lovely writer friends!! Some of them are multi talented and ALSO do art??? The coolest

Sweetest Day is such an underrated holiday, it’s valentine’s day but for your platonic relationships. Something I’ve celebrated since I was a child and maybe that’s why the found family trope is always so important to me

Here’s to my own found family in the author circle? They’re making some amazing stories and art that everyone should go check out!

As a fully grown adult with a developed frontal lobe, I am doing the most celebratory thing I can think of today: going to my local specialty cheese shop and getting something just extra wonderful. And the second thing is giving away FREE ebooks of both of my books to anyone who donates any amount to either @amazonfrontlines or @thepcrf . I really believe in the work these incredible organizations are doing and would love if we could get some money going their way <3 Amazon Frontlines is currently working on getting their indigenous educational system officially recognized by the Ecuadorian government, and if you recall the incredible news a few years ago that a tribe had won the rights to their land in the Amazon back— that was them! You can read all about it in Nenquimo’s book We Will Be Jaguars, which I cannot recommend enough.

Times are tough, and celebrating the next year feels tougher when everything seems grim, but there is always hope to be found in the stories we tell and in each others. I hope you find a new favorite among these, and remember that together there is a way to a brighter world 🫶

"You already have a vampire anthology."
"Yes but what about second vampire anthology?"
ONE ISN'T ENOUGH. ANOTHER!

Yes I'm completely serious. LOVELY TERRORS: AN ANTHOLOGY OF VAMPIRIC HORROR is built from my favorite horror submissions to Exquisite Undead, and it's going to be part of The Book Bazaar (@thebookbazaaronbk ) on BackerKit this October!

Swipe to see the gorgeous cover by R.E. Murray and see the lineup of authors!

More details coming soon, plus a glimpse of the cool stuff you can get by backing the crowdfund! In the meantime, head to the 🔗 up top to follow the project for updates and launch reminders!

OH MY GOSH!!?? I have to come out of my editing cave for this, because WHAT DO YOU MEAN my lil sky pirate book was nominated for FIVE categories in the @romantasyillustrated Best Of Awards?? And like, look at these categories??? Crazy. Absolutely crazy.

Thank you so so much, this was not even on my radar and it is so unbelievably cool 😭🩵 The amount of support you guys have given me is unreal, and I am so so grateful.

Voting is now open for the first round!! There are so many incredible authors and other creators who were nominated (including many of my friends which I am so excited about), so I encourage you to take a look and vote for your favs, whether that includes BBTS or not! It’s only open for a couple days, I think, so don’t wait too long 🫶

Okay, back to the writing cave I go!
(But thank you again omg 😭)

I’m absolutely gobsmacked to be nominated for @romantasyillustrated in the Best of Female Narrator category amongst so many incredible fellow narrators!

The Cabin Calculation by @eamtrofimenkoff is all over this too, so I’ve gotta believe the nomination came from a reader who checked out that audiobook 🥰 (thank you!)

And if you need any other recs to check out while voting, I recommend @jnealwrites @corvid.arcana @oleander_craw @jessskultetyauthor @author. and @katkraehenauthor !

Hail the Rising Tides by Kat Kraehen was my vacation beach read this year, but even if you won’t be by the ocean any time soon, I still highly recommend it! The writing is just as lovely as the cover! It’s perfect for fans of fantasy books with elemental magic, lunar and solar deities, Sapphic and Achillean romance plots, and chaotic character dynamics of all kinds! MAJOR SPOILER WARNING FOR THE LAST THREE SLIDES! CONSIDER YOURSELF WARNED! (Wanna enjoy those memes spoiler free? Go read this book asap!)

🩵 BOOK REVIEW 💚

Vicious Miscreations by @jnealwrites a debut novel, with a carnivorous forest, unique creatures, a group of misfits, fun magic, a dangerous adventure, and the most badass cat. and it's available for you all to read!!

This was such a fun read, each character was unique and had a different history that all played in and impacted the story in a different way. The found family within this made me so happy, watching these characters grow their friendships and or love. Despite all their history and traumas, them coming together was fantastic. and Fletcher, was I found our most complex character and I really loved the character development throughout.

Carnivorous plants and creatures?! and one BADASS cat, of course I had to mention Wattie, because such a core character in this and we must all love and protect and any and all costs.

I am super excited to find out what dangerous adventures our misfits may embark and find themselves on next time! and I would love to get more history and background on the Hunters and Rippers and their war! The way this world is, it has so much open to explore and learn more about within the magic and people and more.

This was a great read, especially if you're looking for books with such great found family but also that darkness of the world but with a fun adventure. It gave me a bit of Love and Monsters vibes at times, and I LOVED that movie so much so I just knew I would be vibing the whole time with this book.

I read this as an ARC, so thank you so so much to both Jenn and @rattlethestarspr for the opportunity. all thoughts are my honest own 🫶🏻🖤
