What if the dream you're questioning is actually your calling?

Corey's father once told him to “go get a real job” because he didn't understand his calling to speak, teach, and help people transform.

Years later, Corey had a dream about his father.

The message was simple:

“Corey, I need you to speak.”

Sometimes people won't understand your vision.

That doesn't mean you should abandon it.

Your purpose is yours to discover and pursue.

Artist Spotlight ✨

@katricecreates

Since childhood, she has been drawn to mixed media and textured art, a curiosity that has grown into a multidisciplinary practice spanning sculpting, relief clay work, epoxy resin, natural crystals, pour painting, and plaster on canvas. Recently completing formal training in clay sculpting, she continues to build on the hands-on, three-dimensional approach that has shaped her process since she was a kid riding around the neighborhood collecting objects to upcycle. Her work often incorporates found materials and explores themes of transformation, earthiness, and visual surprise, with a fascination for optical illusions, hidden images, and assemblages that encourage viewers to look closer. At the heart of her practice is a desire to spark a sense of connection to the natural world and a feeling of wonder in those who experience her art.

This is for all my girlies who read! I know you can feel me on this one. When your entire 2025 reading season was slow and you wish it was so much more…

Between writing and life, I didn’t get through nearly as many books as I hoped. And yes, some of the ones I did finish were rereads because sometimes you just need the comfort of a familiar story.

I put together a little carousel of my 2025 reads and my 2026 TBR wishlist for my nerd girl crew out there.

Manifesting a fuller, richer reading year ahead. May 2026 be the year of new stories, cozy corners, and intentionally carving out time to read. Because aside from Jazz, what else is there anyway? LOL.

A little #TBT on a post I made this past year on the making of my daughter’s senior prom dress:

“I closed my atelier some years ago, when my hands could no longer hold scissors steady, when threading a needle became impossible. Multiple Sclerosis showed up just as I was reaching the peak of my career as a self-taught couturière, dressing Hollywood icons and changemakers alike, gracing red carpets, the Globes, the Oscars, White House dinners, and brides from all walks of life.

My work has been featured in publications like Brides, Modern Bride, Martha Stewart Weddings, and more. In a book by InStyle celebrating the best of the best in bridal fashion, my creations spread to three whole pages. But I stepped away, afraid I could no longer meet the expectations I had once surpassed.

Then came a shift. I wrote a book about Elizabeth Keckley, a woman whose story taught me of resilience, dignity, and the power of reclaiming your story. And last night, I gathered every ounce of strength and might to finish sewing my daughter’s prom dress made from silk charmeuse, cut on the bias, adorned with a single row of ostrich feathers, a silk gossamer evening hooded cape with matching opera gloves. I am surprising her with a gift- a little YSL handbag to hold her powder, hankie, money and phone. Of course, installed hooks to shorten them with an American bustle to keep her dancing all night with ease.

I am not disabled. I am able. And this gown is a testament. To love. To endurance. To legacy. Thank you, Elizabeth Keckley, for the soul you’ve brought into my life. Like the title of this Miles Davis Song, it never entered my mind that one day, a bigger purpose was ahead. We artists are vessels. We make things out of love. And we begin again. That’s all. “
