seven months of fun!! but let’s go back to day one!

I’m so in love with these beautiful, enchanting moments from Aidan & my wedding day. The chaos was worth it and I’m blessed to have such wonderful family and friends to love + support us as we entered this new phase of life.

@mariakatiaphotos went above and beyond for us! she’s a talented gem and we’re lucky to know this mad, awesome photographer!!

Do y’all remember #sevenquicktakes and #fridayintroductions ? I thought it would be fun to bring back the old school IG today.

1. Currently loving: “Abiding Together” podcast (always!), “Miss Scarlet & The Duke” TV show (so good!), Romans in my Bible, Aussie Bites from Costco, and Noell Jett’s new book on budget home design.

2. I watched “Shiny Happy People” and I wasn’t prepared for how deeply it would affect me. I grew up in the 80’s evangelical homeschool movement, but with a strong fundamentalist cherry on top. I have a lot to ponder and process through. I think much good happened in the church at that time, and also a lot of things that were not good.

3. My husband and I used to be hard core paleo. We looked good and felt good, but we now feel that any food extreme isn’t good for our health or our hearts. So now I make quesadillas for lunch and sometimes lasagna for dinner, and it’s a good thing.

4. I love country music. LOVE IT. And the funny thing is having lived in Texas for exactly five weeks now, I can assure you that country music makes WAY more sense down here. Miranda’s Texas skies and Blake’s God’s country and Jason’s small town: come to Texas and you’ll understand.

5. I lost a child to heart disease two years ago, and grief has changed certain things about my personality. I’m much shyer/quieter IRL than I used to be. I’m always an introvert, but the tenderness of grief has made me much more cautious about letting people “in” if that makes sense.

6. This past week I heard the term “dopamine decor” for the first time. Have y’all heard of this? For some people, the art of decorating with color and happy things creates a dopamine response in the brain. I wonder if this is me… not so much with color, but with house beauty in general.

7. Some of my best friends in the whole world are women I met right here and on mom blogs with #sevenquicktakesfriday and #fridayintroductions . It feels crazy to think something as small as a hashtag is what God used to give me the deepest, truest, most amazing women in my life. But that’s why I can’t wait to get to know you better today. 💕

Every year I am blown away by the support for my art shop, Rose Harrington. You are not only supporting art, you are supporting my family who are the ones who give me daily beauty. Thank you.
