How can an art gallery support you? This is the question @katyao.art and I are going to help you explore. We are leading a 5-week course called Art-as-Therapy: Creative Rest this fall at the AGO and would love to see you there.

This is the perfect place to recharge, to spark creativity, to rest, to play. We're gonna take good care of you, and help you find ways to care for yourself.

Thursdays, 10am-1pm, Nov 6-Dec 4

More info at the link in my bio. 💫

Creative Swifties! Come make art about that song lyric that sees into the depth of your soul. You know the one. Wed, Jan 8, 7pm-9pm EST on zoom. $13 with 13% of proceeds going to @teamcatrescueca. Link in bio.

I'll be co-facilitating with my collague @katyao.art, who did her graduate thesis on therapeutic art for swifties and fan-based communities. This workshop is well researched, we got you. Connecting with your community is so important.

(To the folks who want and/or need voiceover captions (like I do!), I was having trouble and googling how to make it work but kept getting errors for this video. I think you can still get captions if theyre enabled in your settings? I'm on it though, I know it's so important! ❤)

It's been such a pleasure facilitating art-as-therapy workshops with @katyao.art for the @agotoronto. Our 9th and final workshop was this weekend, creating found object portraits.

When working with this material, rummaging through the materials and choosing your objects is just as important as creating your image. A chance for spontaneity, self reflection, and imagination. Thank you to the folks who showed up and chose art-making on their Saturday morning. It's always so inspiring to create together.

And it's never too late to start your own jar of found objects, you never know when it might be right time to create with them. 🌟

Collage Your Future: Sat May 18 at the @agotoronto

Rummaging and choosing and making decisions and connections. Experiencing a gallery space in a new way. Collaging-in-community.

Collage can be a powerful process in itself. And then once we have an image, we can engage with it, get some distance, ask questions, gain insights, or maybe reaffirm what we knew all along.

I loved meeting each participant and witnessing everyones unique process and discoveries. I love this work.

Grateful for this facilitation opportunity with the AGO team, @mtothesmith82, and the best co-facilitator @katyao.art. 🥰

Thank you @katyao.art for collaborating this project with me 💓 inspired by Taiwanese traditional tiles to explore our cross-cultures identity~ I could not have asked a better partner to explore our identity! I’m so blessed to be such a safe space to share our stories of our passed and how it shaped us~ we listen to Taiwanese indie music together and get our hands messy with clay~ talk about places in Taiwan we have been and Taiwanese food we like to eat :3 we exchange stories back and forth~ we experience similar things in different context~ our tiles it creates a narrative together in a form of decorative architecture :)
