A beautiful day at @pamamuseum checking out the Sikh Heritage Month exhibits with my favorite little date. 👣🧡
We spent our morning walking through the Baaghi ja Badshah art gallery. At 15 months old, his world is all about exploring, but introducing him to the sights, sounds, and spaces of Sikhi early on means everything to me. I want these spaces—rich with our history of courage, leadership, and community—to always feel like home to him.
The lessons will come later, but the pride and connection start right now. 🌾✨

#sikhi doesn’t often appear here, but it is my core - a path that shapes how I see, feel, and create. A Sikh is a student of the Guru - always learning, always becoming, always moving closer to the eternal.

In these hands, I often feel something beyond self. The spirit of the eternal moves through, and I create. I am an artist because I, too, am creation.

During @sikhheritagemonth , I felt this connection deeply at Peel Art Gallery Museum and Archives @visitpama - a space where history, community, and identity meet, far from home. My husband and I attended a panel discussion on mentorship led by members of @sikhfoundationofcanada - prominent Sikh voices from politics, law, finance, and economics - each carrying forward the responsibility of Vand Chhako: to give, to share, to uplift future generations.

In this spirit of ‘paying it forward’, I’m honoured to have contributed, in a small way, as part of a survey panel for the upcoming permanent Sikh art and artifacts collection at the Royal Ontario Museum. What began as an idea many years ago is now becoming reality @romtoronto
A dedicated permanent space where Sikh history, art, artifacts and scripture will come together, allowing all who enter to experience and understand #sikh 🙏

Had so much fun architecting this beautiful evening, from the tableaus on the table, featuring heliconia hyacinth pincushion and very special Japanese orchid, softened and held by slate rock, volcanic salt, and shards of Himalayan salt as well as a special nod to our origins wrought iron (Sarb-Loh) vessels.

This installation featured custom fabric covers, a reimagination of the ghost chairs draped over with various deep red, brown and charcoal silk organza custom covers. The variants reflecting natures bespoke tendencies.

The light installation made of two custom panels of fabric on 8ft stretchers provided a veil of red light bringing the whole table to a recognizable intimacy.

This evening came together, as an ode to and in reflection of ‘On Earthing and Petrichor’ an exhibition that reflects the zeitgeist today and provides a haven to those that dream of a high-trust society that lives in tandem with nature.
