Paris Expenses: Student vs Family 🇫🇷✨
Paris may be pricey, but being a student here comes with serious perks! Let’s break it down 👇
🏡 Accommodation
Students can find studios around 800€ or shared flats for 350–600€. A small family? Expect around 1000€+ for an apartment.
🥐 Food & Groceries
Groceries cost about 150–200€ per student, 300–400€ for families.
Eating out averages 15€ per meal—cooking at home wins! Plus, students often access discounted grocery options.
🚇 Transport
Students get metro passes around 35€, while the standard monthly pass is 88€ (2025 rates).
💶 Taxes
Students don’t pay income tax on part-time or freelance work (only social contributions for internships/CDD).
Full-time workers with a CDI? Taxes apply.
🎟️ Activities
Museums, cinemas & parks offer up to 30% off for students.
🏠 CAF Benefits
Huge win for students: up to 40% housing support!
Families may only receive CAF help in specific cases, but they do get child & pregnancy support.
