My last day here at KMB. So happy that I could catch these beautiful exhibits today and also spend time with some of my favourite people in the arts.

@smithashajith work especially has always moved me, since the first time I saw it. Playful dreamlike scenes, imbued with tenderness, rendered freely with loose brushwork in gentle pastles, lingering lightly as a feather in the viewers eyes and mind.

Very fortunate to have had lots of laughs and fun conversations with @basist_kumar , an artist whose work I admire and to learn more about his art practice. Looking forward to your next show and to many more fun meetings!

Back to my studio now. Grateful for each day on this journey.

It was wonderful to be back in #Trivandrum, visiting a few artists’ studios and attending two important exhibitions of the late masters Shri Namboodiri and Shri C.N. Karunakaran, curated by Deepa Seetharam at the College of Fine Arts Gallery.

This was the first major exhibition since Keraleeyam, the first external exhibition held at the College Gallery. During the Keraleeyam project, we restored this beautiful space, which has since been used regularly by students for their annual shows. For the first time, with the support of the Department of Higher Education, the gallery has now been opened to external exhibitions, operating with a modest fee structure.

I was also part of the inaugural ceremony on 19 August 2025, inaugurated by Princess Pooyam Thirunal Gouri Parvathi Bayi. It was deeply moving to experience the works of both Karunakaran and Namboodiri, and to meet their families along with the architect.

It was also a pleasure to meet Shri T.P. Seetaram (IFS), T.P. Srinivas (IFS), Kavita Nambiar, Yamini Mohan, Latha Rajeevkumar and her son, Aishwarya Suresh, Blodsow V.S., Meheja, Devi Seetharam, Sumesh, and Wilfred. A day filled with inspiring studio visits that concluded meaningfully with this tribute exhibition.

An Inspiring Evening at the Ritz-Carlton, Bengaluru

Last evening, I had the privilege of being part of a deeply engaging conversation at an event organized by Art Mantram, led by the remarkable Mrs. Jija Hari Singh, former DGP of Karnataka, along with her committed and passionate team. It was an evening that celebrated culture building through art, dialogue, and community spirit.

I was honored to speak alongside Prashant Prakash, a humble and thoughtful philanthropist, who has generously donated the site for DrishyAM — a visionary space, an art village dedicated to nurturing through art, craft, music and creativity. The architectural presentation for the space was powerful and full of promise. A truly commendable beginning.

It was heartening to witness such an enthusiastic turnout — individuals genuinely invested in building cultural spaces for Bengaluru’s future. The evening sparkled with voices of wisdom and warmth, including the former Chief Secretary of Karnataka, Mr. Rao, who spoke with charm, humor, and conviction.

Special thanks to Yamuna Hari Singh, who held the evening with elegance and strength. I do hope more young voices will join and carry this forward. And what a joy it was to meet the wonderful Ricky Kej, three-time Grammy Award winner — humble, generous, and full of love for the arts.

From soulful music to thoughtful conversations, from chefs to musicians — it was a beautiful confluence of culture, care, and creativity.

Congratulations again to the Art Mantram team and my warmest wishes for DrishyAM. On behalf of Kochi Biennale Foundation I wish you create a great and inspirational space.

With gratitude and admiration 💐
