💛 COUP DE CŒUR
Frankfurter Buchmesse 2026 🇩🇪📚🌍

Still overwhelmed by how happy this day made me. Thank you, Kawangis Publishing (Paraw Books), for a successful MIBF! Nanggulo kami sa Booth 137.

Ang saya to sign copies of 3AM Thoughts and Other Times I Can’t Sleep and, more than that, makausap ang old friends, new friends, and even strangers who chose to support the book. Sobrang saya ng experience. I really love this community. 🥹

And of course, more photos from my phone soon! 😂 Parang may sarili akong official photographers buong araw. Thank you, Micah and Lance, for documenting everything and for making the whole day extra fun. Love you both! 🤍

Most of all, thank You, Lord, for the people You let me meet because of this book. Ang daming unexpected conversations and connections. soooooo grateful. 🥹📚🤍 #mibf2026

Book signing, radio interview, strangers showing up for my book, movie date, and a weekend surrounded by people who value and support the things I care about. 🥹

Thank you, Kawangis & PARAW Books, and everyone who made this weekend special. ❤️

Funny how the things I wrote under “things to do before 30” happened… two years later.@girlbyeancawords

Bookworm blog: #MIBF2026 Day 3
09/11/26 | Friday

Hi there! I’m Jen, welcome to my MIBF diary entry for Day 3 - here’s how it went!

My first day going ~ and I actually arrived around 2pm. Sweetie dropped me off & went ahead to check us in a nearby hotel.

Did the bulk of my shopping today as planned & pretty much got everything I listed, yay!

It was also super wonderful to see familiar faces & I appreciate the little chats we get to sneak in in between this semi-chaotic event.

Extra gratitude to Anj for spending the evening with me - oh diba, buti nalang kabisado niya Ikea. Closing na kami umalis, sulit kung sulit hehehe!

Edit: oh diba may typo pa ko sa sarili kong handle. Tamad nako ireupload, gets na natin yan hahaha!

Here are the books I got during #mibf2026

Grabbed a copy of @packing_sheetsph Kit's latest collection that I did a short review of, 2 collections from @ustpublishinghouse that I've been looking forward to and a zine with a friend's story in it

Nabudol ako sa Dwendes book cos it looks gorgeous and 30% off sa @summit.books then got a steampunk comic from @kawangis and cute little comics from @manix_abrera and @kwentoon then got a book from E Samar over at @adarnahouse to complete my stamp rally lol

So ayun nabuo ko stamp rally ng @packing_sheetsph and received a free copy of Trust Fall sakto kase I got Team Building from @myavenidaph ! I'm in my horror/dark fiction era (parang never naman natapos tong era ko lol) so looking forward to Anthony's new book under @summit.books , Boss Karl's novel with @penguinbookssea and Rexy from @raygunpress new collection. Also free books from @milfloresbooks yay!

Another gorgeous book, The Bohol We Savor from @milfloresbooks (and more of their freebies), then dropped by @anvilpublishing for S4. Also grabbed a copy of the CNF SHS textbook I contributed 2 pieces to years ago (dunno where my copy is anymore). Passed by @balangaybooks for Teng Mangansakan's book (came across it in a reel and it looked intriguing). Boothed with @chiefigniter and she was gracious enough to give a copy of her book!

I got a ton of children’s books from @hiyas_books @omfliterature of course 😅 I would have gotten more if I could! Also got Toby the Turtle from @eenoweenow plus books from @kahelpress @adarnahouse @anvilpublishing and a copy of Pippi for my inner child who loved the film

Kwentong Pilot with the General Manager aka bodegero ng Kawangis 😂 Salamat po! Pati kaming mga Kawangis Shipmates ay nabiyayaan ng Pilot Pens for our book signing last MIBF! 🥹

As a teacher, pancheck ko rin talaga ang Pilot Pen since 2016. Hahaha. Lalo na ang fave kong PILOT BP-145 kasi ergonomic (ERGONOMIC?!?) yung grip niya, tapos refillable pa! Aprub! 👍👌

Fully Booked: 537.6 from 672

- Infinity & Ruin

UP Press: 550, 450
- Crime, Mystery, and Suspense - Filipino Fiction for YA
- The Best of Ph Spec Fiction 2005-2010
*I was looking for Sci-Fi Filo Fic for YA (there was none) but saw these & here we are

Anvil: 315 from 350, 446 from 495
- Locust Girl
- Fish-Hair Woman
*from the limited signed copies batch!

Allotted ideal budget: 3k
Actual total spent: 3.6k
Total ‘saved’ from discounts: 552

I may have exceeded it a little but setting a budget grounded me! I had a few more titles I listed that didn’t make the cut, as well as books I was tempted to get but ultimately didn’t (the Witch Hat Atelier mangas at NBS! But I’m content w/ learning that they finally carry this title, & I’ll be collecting them in the future) I know there’ll be other chances!

BONUS: Not from MIBF, but from Fully Booked SM MOA - my hubby saw & grabbed this stunning Art of Fire Emblem: Awakening book (2609 from 2899 w/ use of disc card)!
