Bakers across the country (and from the hashtags created on Instagram, it appears around the world) are holding a massive bake sale next Saturday to raise money for local organizations fighting against racial injustice. I’m excited to be part of the Triangle area group of @bakersagainstracism—just another small way to connect the Bread that we share on Sunday mornings with the bread and that we bake and break throughout the week.
Keep an eye out on my stories and on @eastdurhambakeshop @kchysmith @viedfinder feeds for details on how to place your order. If you’re a home baker interested in joining, shoot me a DM and I’ll get you connected!

Hey @carrborofarmersmarket fans! We’re excited to be able to offer advance online orders for your favorite pastries on Wednesdays! Our website is up and running, we simply ask for 24 hours notice (so please get your orders in by Tuesday at 3pm)! www.eastdurhambakeshop.com/farmers-markets/
A quick note about Saturdays: because we were accepted to the market as Wednesday vendors we are only able to attend Saturday when there is space available. During normal times when tents are more tightly packed in this wouldn’t be an issue, but right now we can only attend if there’s space. That means that as more and more farmers start coming back with their beautiful spring and summer crops, there may not be space for us. Of course, if there is space, we’ll be there! But because we don’t find out until last minute if we are able to attend, we are unable to accommodate pre-orders for the Saturday market and Saturdays are first-come, first-served.

this year I started interviewing inspiring women in the world of food for my blog. at first this was a selfish endeavor because I always want to know how they got their start and found their stride, but as I asked the questions I heard both unique stories and common threads. it made me want to keep talking to as many women as possible about smashing the patriarchy, carving out success and what the best pantry staples are⁣
⁣
⁣
these are just a few of the remarkable women I’ve profiled so far, check out the blog to read their features! I’m excited to keep learning from the women around me and sharing their inspiring accomplishments with you⁣
⁣
it was also an honor to work with wicked talented photographers like @sarah_hummel25, @lizclayman, @gabbyjones.jpeg and @melissa_hom on this project as well. their work is so gorgeous and empowering to me ⁣
