Another 2-pack of local racing. Pocono and Endgrain. Both deserve your attention. Hope to see them grow in the coming years.

Practice is ON!

This week’s practice is the penultimate practice of the season and we hope you’ll be there to practice some skills to pay the proverbial bills.

What bills? Def not your PECO bill bc those are astronomical. There’s an old Belgian veldrijden prayer that says “may your winnings exceed your frites tab” and I think that’s beautiful. 🥲🍟

ANYWAY daylight continues to dwindle, so we’ll be running an abbreviated skills session before getting into laps.

5:30 - skills
6:00 - laps

BRING LIGHTS, BRING A HEART FULL OF LOVE FOR YOUR FELLOW CYCLOCROSSERS, BRING A SNACK AND A JACKET.

All are welcome! Plz bring a bike in good working condish and a helmet if you’re planning to ride laps/do skills. We 💜 you(r brain)!

See you there!

See you tomorrow for practice! Remember when it was almost sweater weather for 3 seconds? Well that’s not happening tomorrow. 80º at the start of practice?? Sheesh.

5:30pm | SKILLS
6:15pm | LAPS

The days are getting shorter, so we’re going to abbreviate skills portion of practice so we can get to laps before we lose too much daylight.

Speaking of which: 🚨THERE ARE THREE MORE OFFICIAL PRACTICES LEFT FOR THE SEASON.🚨 October 28th will be our last official practice with our regular format of guided skills work followed by hot laps. There may even be some special surprises after that last practice. 👀 Some may still gather for hot (or not) laps and individual skill work in the weeks after, but it will not be hosted in the same format as you know and (hopefully🥲👉👈) love.

As always, all bikes, bodies, skill levels and ages are welcome. We want you here! Please make sure your bike is in good working condition and you’ve got a helmet if you’re planning to practice and ride laps with us.

This weekend, there are two great races on the calendar! @phillyciclismo’s Crossasaurus Awesome (PA state championships!) and @cooperrivercross (PhillyCX at checkout for 8% off registration) just over the bridge in Jersey! Make sure to register for those if you haven’t already!

See you tomorrow!

After a few weeks of dust bowl CX racing we finally got a taste of some mud at Charm City on day 2 and we can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that these @wolf_tooth_comp ALT pedals handle the mud without a fuss. No one on the team reported difficulties getting in or out of these pedals after PLENTY of mud sticking to our cleats from running up mansion hill, dismounting for the planks nor running through the mud up to the Wagner Roofing flyover.

Add to that, everyone can adjust the Q factor on their pedals to fit everyone’s stance. From 51mm to 59mm (and 55 in between) you don’t need to buy extra hardware to find your perfect stance. Some like it wide, some like tight and others sit just fine in the middle!

The extra purple POP of color is just icing on the cake. We love how they work with our bikes and kit. 😍

HAUTE FACTORY RACING // CHARM CITY CX 2026

Do not be alarmed: Asphodelos has not undergone a format change. It’s just that, from time to time, I have been known to enjoy the riding of bikes! (okay, it’s pretty much a daily thing). I was even an occasional piss-poor bike racer.

Despite my overall lack of racing aptitude, I still made a lot of great friends through racing cyclocross (or cycling cross as I like to call it lately) and a number of those friends came into town this past weekend for Charm City Cross. Charm City CX, or just ‘Charm’, is a weekend of cross races held in Druid Hill Park, featuring amateur fields all the way up to pro/elite fields. Some of these cross friends now race in the pro/elite fields for Haute Factory Racing, a scrappy and talented team with some of the sickest bikes and racing kits out there.

Haute came, they raced, ate large quantities of pancakes and pizza, and just spread their great vibes all throughout the race venue. I thought there was no better way to capture those vibes than with my 35mm. I had some Kodacolor 100 lying around, so I loaded it up and headed to the park on Saturday. Enjoy this little detour from metal, even though, if you ask me, the punk/metal-to-bike pipeline is real!

Better late than never, but practice is ON for tomorrow!!

Lots of racing on the horizon and in the rear view as well! Have you refreshed your sealant in your tires? How’s your chain looking?

We’ll see you all at the course tomorrow for skills and laps! Don’t forget a jacket and lights because it’s apparently fall now. All are welcome!

5:30 - skills
6:30 - laps

You’re also always welcome to just come hang out! We’d love to see you!

Back at @gocrossrace @finn.sonnemann kindly made us a really great flat white and we wanted to repay him with some real beans from @blanchardscoffee (and to get him to make us another delicious coffee obvs)

Finn finished the @charmcitycx weekend with two silver medals and won the @uscxseries series! No big deal Finn way to go!
