As a kid I never imagined I would have worked as a broadcaster for as long as I have, contributing to legendary stations and brands working with some of the most amazing people one could ever encounter. On this #NationalRadioday I’d like to acknowledge some of the dopest people I’ve had the honor to work with who unfortunately are no longer here. People I still think about. People I laughed with, had great convos with, ate meals with, drank with, learned from and made history with.

I knew the girl from Memphis Tennessee would need more to make it in this world. I was given the best of what the women in my family could give me though. I wasn’t as clear as I am now at the beginning of my journey here- but I’m crystal clear now.

A Different Kinda Woman is more than a podcast to me. It’s personal. It’s a space for the conversations we don’t always get to have—the honest, complicated, beautiful conversations about what has been built in us from who we came from, what we have seen, what we have experienced, who we are, what we’ve survived, what we desire, and who we’re becoming.

I created this for every woman who has ever felt like she was too much, not enough, misunderstood, unconventional, or simply… different.

Maybe different is exactly who we were always meant to be. ✨

I understand why you wouldn’t believe they do in the midst of life “LIFING.” But keep praying and thanking God anyway. Keep telling yourself they do, even when it looks like they won’t. That’s what I have done all my life. And I promise you, God didn’t give me ANYTHING He didn’t give you. 🙌🏾
