Your misses are teaching you more than your hits.

@hubermanlab put it plainly on @joeroganexperience: you don’t learn from passive reps. The friction of going for it and sometimes missing is what tells the brain to change. The frustration you feel when a drill won’t come together is the first gate of learning opening. Stay in it a little longer.

Then sleep. That’s when the circuits actually change. Come back a few days later and you’re closer.

If every rep is clean, you’re not asking enough of yourself.

Save this for your next session.

“Pain should never be a wasted opportunity”
Your perspective on pain can either be a tool to achieve or anchor for you to fail. It’s all about how you view pain and the relationship you cultivate from it. Try this one out with a homie. Sometimes you just gotta bro lift in the garage!

Tactical Games Kingman Regional event. Thank you for being such a rad event. This was nothing short of a humbling experience. This gave me nothing but fuel to add to the fire. I genuinely felt like I had one of my best performances despite the outcome. I was trying my hardest to secure a top 5 finish in Men’s Elite division to qualify for nationals. That being said, on the second to last stage after securing my position in the top five, I had my first ever AD during my clearing procedure. This resulted in an automatic MATCH DQ. This was a kick in the gut to say the least especially after such a strong showing during day 2. I have been training hard these last few months to make sure I deserved to compete with the best and it was all lining up for me until that moment. I want to say thank you to the @thetacticalgames for adhering to high standards and keeping everyone safe. Thank you to all my fellow competitors who experienced this moment and had nothing but encouragement and kind words for me. Not a single person made me feel bad. I took my time to wrestle with this and I have learned the lessons from it. It didn’t “happen to me” it “happened for me”. The community is what makes this special. Everyone wants the best for each other. Proud of my effort going into this. This opened the doors to what’s really about to come. Who doesn’t like a good comeback story? This whole thing showed me how one of my favorite quotes is true in life.

“It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done!” Rocky

This is just the beginning of something greater. The pages are being written in the training. No stone left unturned. Until the next one 🤘🏽. Be safe, stay dangerous!

What… A… Weekend…

Theres a lot of words to describe the emotions about last week’s performance but I’ll save those for later.

Congratulations to all of the Athletes who showed up and put in the work. Thank you to the @thetacticalgames crew & volunteers for running yet another great event. You all give us the opportunity to throw down in a safe yet challenging environment.

Big congratulations to all of the podium finishers! @jmanchego551 it’s always a blast competing with you and I’m #sorrynotsorry I took a stage win from you @seanrodriguez20. I look forward to future events.

Super proud of @idontkara_ and her hard work, putting her 🥇 in Women’s Tactical!

The road to Nationals starts now!!

Back to the grindstone! Had a great time at the TTG Kingman. Learned a ton and once again completely humbled. I’ll have another post in longer form explaining my performance. I’m happy with how I was able to adapt and overcome through the weekend…devastated with the end result. I got my first ever match DQ in this environment from an AD during a clearing procedure. You live and you learn. Thankful for everyone out there who believed in me and pushed me. Not a single person made me feel bad about it. Rather encouraged me in a time I felt low. Thank you. That’s what this community is about. The fire is burning more than ever before. Who doesn’t like a good comeback?

So whoever is taking these bags outside and leaving them. Put your shit away these bags get wet they are no longer the correct weights. Some people train for comps and the weights need to be what they say. This is just pure laziness. Put your shit away or go to planet fitness or 24 where you belong. This has happened a few times now. We are not here to clean up after you. That’s your mom’s job.
