✨ Squishy fibre batts

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

When I pull batts from the carder, I ball them up and chuck them into a basket. When it comes to prepping them for sale, I roll them nicely and add a band label.

The fluffy ball is cute, but would be an absolute mess in a shop!

Our Makers shop in the Hub has had a refresh and we are wooly into it!! Our new retail offer now has beautiful pieces from the talented fiber artists featured in our new exhibition, Field to Fashion, including framed woven pieces and cards from @hummingloom, gorgeous woven scarves from @hem_handwoven, and British wool lampshades and accessories from @janiewithers 🧶

Alongside these featured makers you can shop all things wool, including handspun skeins and cakes from @kecreatesyarn and @whorlwool, darning supplies from @threadoflife, and even notebooks made from reclaimed wool from @ventforchange! A huge staff favourite are the fabulous tape measure scarves by @knit_and_destroy, knit with the softest lambswool 😍 All available on the Hub at the Museum of Making, next door to the Warehouse where our new exhibition is, from 24 April - 4 October. Like everyone, 2025 was tough for me - my sales were scarily low compared to other years. My health has been playing up for most of the year too which makes me feel like I achieved even less!

Making this reel made me realise that I actually had a really successful year, and I also now have an apocalypse skill!

Here's to a better 2026 for everyone and the world ✌️

I spent so much time deliberating how to word this sign for bird nesting material from the alpaca fluff that is too short to spin, clearly still got it slightly wrong 😂

Couldn't resist taking a lineup photo of these beautiful yarn colours 😍 they remind me of Taylor Swifts song 'Cardigan'. Cosy vibes and antique colours 👌

These yarns will be headed to @freyajonesartandcraft new shop soon!

Parcelling up stock to send to @freyajonesartandcraft soon!

Turns out fibre is heavy and figuring out how best to split it into separate parcels is mentally taxing 😅
