SWEAT ON THE FLOOR 🥵 | PT. 1

April 24th, 2026

For legacy. For my ancestors. For our healing

we danced.
we moved our hips.
we held each other with love.
we gathered in purpose
we lived fully.

thank you to each and every person that put hands on this home, volunteered their time, came, donated or sent an encouraging love note 💐 Sweat on the Floor was a beautiful black time & the mission isn’t over! Stay on the lookout for more info ♥️

The Daintiest Filipina Doll just joined this dollhouse of Glitter Winners

First and foremost, thank you to @rubyliqueur for putting on Glitter Hour every month despite her trials and tribulations with venues. I want to articulate that Kara Bao as I am today wouldn’t exist without Glitter Hour.

I also want to take a moment to share that every Glitter Winner this year was so deserving of this title, and I’m grateful to represent this cast of beautiful and kind folks! We put on a MF show together and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m still in awe that I won, and I credit it all to all my folks that showed out last night for me. Thank you for supporting this Filipina.

(Pic 1: Big Back Bitch always tryna eat something)

On a sappy note, I wouldn’t exist without this stage, in many different meanings of that statement. It’s through drag that I got to connect with my sister @itsjanewarwickbabe and that I continue to grow with @kaleeke22 and @souljabaee
It’s how I continue to explore my Filipino History, my gender identity, and how I alchemize a lot of pain that life throws at me. I’m only a “Camp” drag queen because in reality I’m on the spectrum and avoidant of my feelings — AKA I make a joke of everything even if it hurts me deeply. Being able to turn that around into a camp costume is just a benefit of growing around my pains. I have no clue who I’d be if I didn’t have drag as an outlet.

I could say so much more and name drop 100 more people, but I shan’t. There’s gonna be another post anyways bc there are more pics to come. You’ll hear from me again

Mahal,
Kara
