🔥 BEHIND THE SCENES ‘WITTE WIEVEN’🔥

As WITTE WIEVEN continues its international journey – soon releasing on @shudder from May on via its international title Heresy, we also have something else in store for you, via the link in our bio… 👀

Through this behind-the-scenes film, you get a unique insight into how all the medieval madness came together. 🎥🧟🥹

Consider it also a tribute to the incredible team behind it: catch glimpses of all the blood, sweat and tears, the craft, the dedication, and the collective energy that made the project come to life. ❤️

This film was developed within the ‘Koolhoven Presenteert’ trajectory, initiated by @martinkoolhoven , a program that supported genre film makers with their first mid-length film. Directed by @didier_konings_art , and made in collaboration with @vprocinema , @nederlandsfilmfonds and the @npofonds , this project sits at the heart of what we do at Make Way Film.

Thank you once more cast & crew! 🙏🏼😊

Very happy to share the trailer to my new short film Steaming old buddies (Nog even goeie vrienden). The film finds a balance between drama and comedy, addressing themes like loneliness, old age and vulnerability.

Also very happy to share that it has been selected for the 2026 @iffr , see you there!

Produced by @rauwkost.film, starring @zouhair_mtazi and @bram.legerstee.

Almost two weeks ago now we hosted the first private screening of my first short fiction: Nog even goeie vrienden.

I was very nervous showing it to my family, friends and colleagues, but the reactions were great.

Extremely thankful to everyone who helped making this movie and all the support along the way. Amazing to see how many people collaborated on this project.

Thanks @rauwkost.film @fg.jeurissen @arjenvandoezelaar @lllawrencelllee for the production and mental support.

Special thanks to the main actors @bram.legerstee and @zouhair_mtazi

Thanks @zoevanderkust for having us in @lantarenvenster, thanks @ketchup_fles for hosting the night.

Thanks @jord.jpg @studio.angelineau for the pictures.

Thanks @hanna_waeger for the poster design

And thanks to @kees.film for being the influencer of the night (and of course for the edit)

Post-production for my new film, ‘Do No Harm,’ is wrapping up, and I’m looking forward to sharing this unsettling creation. None of it would be possible without talented collaborators, shooting on a confined boat at night, in the rain, and in winter. Still, everyone remained positive and hid their frustrations from me exceedingly well! To thank everyone, the brilliant and dedicated cast, AMÉLIE ONZON & SJAAK HARTOG, an absolute dream to work with. The fantastic and supportive production team, Producers MONIQUE VAN KESSEL & FAUVE DE RUITER, Production Assistant LUCIA DE VISSER @makewayfilm, never afraid to get their hands dirty! My co-writer/pirate, PAUL BROMLEY. The Camera and Lighting team, Cinematographer/Colourist LUUK DE KOK, 1st AC DUNCAN DE KONING, Gaffer MIKE DEEN & Best Boy DAISY STOUT, who brought a vivid look to the film with so many cinematic shots. The make-up/SFX/puppeteering team, Supervisor ROLF TE BOOIJ, Make-up Artist SHARON DE RUIJSSCHER, puppeteer KAY UHLENBECK, Animatronics & Special Props VINCENT MENSINK, & Rain SFX, RUUD VERBAKEL, thanks for staying on the splendid side of grotesqueries and sharing my passion for in-camera effects. The art department, Production Designer EVELIEN SCHUTTE, Art Director ANNELIES MALTHA, Set Dresser NINA NÖEL RAAIJMAKERS, for making a beautiful boat sparkle with sinister tones. The generous harbour folks at WSV de Dintel, especially MARCEL CLOOSTERMAN, for the use of his magical vessel. Editor KEES RIPHAGEN for continually pushing the potential of the footage, coupled with his navigational boating prowess. VFX Artists TIM SMIT & DIDIER KONINGS for bringing a delicately crafted touch to the VFX. The sound team at Sound & Motion Studios, Sound Design & Mix JAMES OLIVIER, Foley Artists JADE HILL & SEAN SUTTON, Foley Recordist & Editor CARL ROBERTS, Score Mixer SIMON RATCLIFFE, for the most excellent rich sound world they created. Composer NICOLAS LIEBING for his haunting and original music. Extra shout-outs to JENNIFER EIKELENBOOM and CLIFF DEUN, and, as always, my exceptional second unit, MARIA SHEEAN, STANISLAW SHEEAN & WALTER SHEEAN! If I forgot anyone, you have permission to pour scorn on me.
