POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

This one is hard to write.

Phoenix, thank you. You’ve been home for most of my life. You gave Kailee and me a place to start our family, a community that had our backs, and the freedom to take chances and build something we believed in.

I found my people here. Bartenders, chefs, owners and dreamers who believed something special could happen in the middle of the desert. Watching this hospitality community come into its own, and playing a small part in it, will always mean more than I can put into words.

To everyone who chose to work alongside us: thank you. I watched barbacks become bartenders, bartenders become managers, and managers become leaders and owners. Nothing makes me prouder than walking into a place you built. You brought our ideas to life, and watching you grow has been the greatest reward of my career.

To our guests: you became family. You showed up for opening nights and slow Tuesdays. You celebrated milestones with us, brought your friends, and kept coming back. You helped build those bars, and I’ll always be grateful.

With all of that in my heart, I’m proud to share that I’m joining MGM Resorts International as Executive Director of Beverage Strategy. This next chapter takes me to Las Vegas.

Vegas has already changed my life twice: it’s where I won the cocktail competition that changed my career, and where I met my wife. Now, it’s bringing us back for another chapter.

I’ll head out first, with Kailee and the boys joining me down the road. For her, it’s a homecoming. For our family, it’s the beginning of something new.

Phoenix, you’re not getting rid of me. I’ll be back often for family, friends and the bars that raised me.

Thank you to everyone who helped me get here.

Vegas, let’s get to work.

OK maybe the first AI thumbnail was a bit mental, but it’s all about levity and fun. Lost some people and spent some goodwill I had acquired from the 95.

Honestly, I standby this episode with unwaivering conviction and this reel is a reflection of the message and tone.

Challenge yourself to consider the opposing views with the same spirit you hold of your own.

What Has Trail Running Culture Become? Who defines it?

In this episode, we analyze and breakdown the controversy surrounding Singletrack. Focusing on Finn’s attempt to prevent Mike McKnight’s access to race TOR, their attempt to prevent McKnight from earning a living in the sport and wipe away his 2026 results.

The 95 is a diverse group with diverse opinions, morales, principles, world views and how/when to seek justice. We celebrate the fullness of the 95! We believe speaking about differences in good faith conversation is the way forward.
Taking covert action and trying to weaponize your platform to destroy a man’s livelihood and access to a sport void of any real regulations is not the response the 95 supports. It’s not the culture or community trail runners embody.

Let us know in the comments where you land and let’s keep the conversation moving forward.

Lessons were learned yesterday. You find out a lot about yourself when you are alone on the trails. Yesterday I found out I was never alone on the trail. My wife, my dad, and 2 of my brothers were there and not going anywhere no matter how my race went. Long story short (I’ll share more lessons another day) it’s time I got take care of my reoccurring injury I’ve had since I was 20. I can push through a lot but I have a rule of 3. If there are 3 things I need to push through at the same time, I might need to call it to fight another day.

Popliteal on both legs swelled up
Dehydration, stomach spasms, and couldn’t take in food or fluids
Hamstring and quads seized up.
All my fault for making bad decisions during training, prep, and the race.

I’ve learned I still put people before me which isn’t always a bad thing but I would have risked life and limb to not let the crew down. Which I am sure almost every ultra runner feels.

I have a rule in life and on the trail, never make a hard decision until you hit an aid station. Always push through whatever hard time you are going through until you make it through and are able to take inventory, acknowledge, accept, plan, and execute. I knew I was injured mile 6, I should have dropped mile 35, pushed to mile 44.

As soon as I hit an aid station the crew took over and you knew they are going to fix you.

Love you Jenny, Dad and the boys.

Wow, I don’t even know where to start.

I just got back from three incredible days in Sedona for Hospitality Unplugged, hosted by @juniperandjigger @asher52 and @kailee.asher A group of us from the Phoenix hospitality community came together for something our industry doesn’t make enough time for: education, connection, health, and wellness.

And wow… was it needed!!!!

We spend so much of our lives taking care of everyone else creating experiences, serving people, working long nights, and constantly giving our energy away that sometimes we forget to pour some of that energy back into ourselves.

These three days gave us the opportunity to unplug, reset, learn, breathe, and reconnect. We strengthened friendships we already had and built new ones on a completely different level.

We were surrounded by some of the best people in our city, learning from people who genuinely care about making our industry better not only behind the bar, but as humans outside of it.

I came home feeling replenished, inspired, grateful, and reminded that taking care of yourself isn’t separate from being great at what you do. It’s part of it.

So much love to everyone who made this experience what it was, and to all the incredible brands that showed up and supported us. 🖤

Thank you @asher52 @kailee.asher @juniperandjigger @bacardilimited1862 @williamgrantusa @remycointreau @cointreau @fevertree_usa @hendricksgin @camparigroup @hausalpenz @delmagueymezcal @academia_patron @emleeeb @keifermadness @imixinstyle @mezcalfindsjenn @alekaontherox @saysar @_anna_morris_ @project_pat_attak @sarahkberardi @docdefeo @oactours @chef_taylor_domet

Sometimes you have to unplug from everything around you to reconnect with everything within you.
