Well my friends, 2026 is exploding with potential! My shoulder injury is healed and I’m looking forward to an active year ahead! At the end of 2024 we had great fun touring in the US with the rocktastic @niki_skistimas and @ralf_dietel completing the live lineup. 2025 saw me relocating from LA all the way to the MidWest, to my new stomping ground of the Twin Cities, refreshed and inspired for the next phase! Now I want to pick up where we left off in defying limiting logistics, and I’m putting together another band to rock out with here.
I’ve been playing with a phenomenal drummer, @keithlarsendrums , who some may know from Oedipus and Porcupine. Exciting energy is happening and we’re seeking to make this another magic three🔥✨If you are a shit hot GUITARIST located in the area of Minneapolis/Saint Paul with skills, passion and experience please get in touch and dm us here! Pass it on!!
Drew,Justin and I meanwhile, are working on new material due to land throughout the coming year. And if UK/Europe beckons you may get to see us onstage.
That’s some of the news for now! Keep on movin’ don’t stop yeah! 🎶Wishing you all a cool yule! 🎄L❤️‍🔥O🤘V☃️E🖤

After a lot of experimenting, I’ve found a new go-to stereo room mic 🎙️🎙️ position in my room. My room is small and dry so I was having a difficult time getting a good room sound. Moving the mics closer to the floor helped a lot. I’m using a @shure #ksm44 set to a figure-8 ♾️ pattern with a #ksm27 to form a #midside setup. The mid KSM27 is about 10” up facing the floor. This method maintains a good phase relationship for the room mics.

This setup provides a lot of flexibility in post:
a.) The stereo width can be adjusted by changing the gain relationship between the mid and side microphones
b.) The mid microphone and side’s phase switch can be muted to output a mono figure-8 ♾️ which can be cool if there’s already a nice stereo spread from the overheads
c.) The side microphone can be muted to just get the mid sound

Then process and mix to taste🧂
Anybody want to hear these different options from one mic setup?

Anybody have tips for cool drum sounds in a small/dry room?
