The last set of short films that the #sidewalk28 jury recognized included our best narrative and best documentary shorts. These decisions are never easy as there are so many excellent films to choose from.

Many thanks to @rebma_nosneb @hollywoodhindu and @josephcarrtoo for their diligent discussions in picking @thesentryfilm directed by @walktellworks as our Best Narrative Short.

And special thanks to Christopher E. Holmes, Molly Murphy, and @matthewhashiguchi on our documentary jury for selecting “Submitting Tigers” directed by @kellermouse as our Best Doc Short.

Congratulations to both of these films!

I wrote something in 2017 that lead me here. “VILLAIN” at its core, is about confronting your shadows in order to see the light. It’s out now on all streaming platforms. And the music video is on YouTube. (Links in bio)

I worked on this with some really talented people. @kellermouse @aleabristow @near_cited, floydscorner thank you all.

Enjoy the ceremony.

I hereby,
tilt my sword to the flame.
Let us weep
and let us see.

And the award goes to… 🥁

Our Closing Picnic was full of smiles, cheers, and a few happy tears. We are endlessly grateful to have shared this weekend with such incredible filmmakers, guests, and community.

Congratulations to all of this year’s award winners and thank you to everyone who made Mountainfilm 2026 one for the books.

I’ve worked for Mountainfilm for well over 20 years, and I can’t remember a time when I’ve been more proud of this festival and the people who make it so special.

Official Selection at @mountainfilm Telluride +
Screening at @sheridanoperahouse

This Short Documentary was made to be seen and to start conversations.

Honored that it was part of Mountainfilm and will be screened at the Sheridan Opera House a space where stories like this matter.

Even though I couldn’t attend, I’m grateful it reached an audience there.

Day one is in the books and wow, what a way to kick things off. Films across every venue, the Speaker Series Symposium up at High Camp, Art Walk taking over Main Street, and a whole lot of community packed into one beautiful Telluride day.

And we’re just getting started. Here’s to the weekend!

Feeling deeply grateful to be part of a project that is resonating with so many people.

This doku speaks about mental health in a way that connects us reminding us that no one is truly alone in what they feel. The emotions, the vulnerability, the shared experiences… that’s what makes storytelling so powerful.

Seeing it being recognized at festivals and even receiving an award means a lot but even more meaningful is knowing it creates connection, understanding, and space for real conversations.

We’re all more connected than we think. 🤍
