Yesterday! What. An. Amazing. Unforgettable. Experience. 26th #RnRNashville

So overwhelmed with humility and joy! Yesterday, for the fourth year in a row, I had the honor of leading the warm up at the starting line for the @runrocknroll Nashville 5K/10K and at the starting line for the @runrocknroll Nashville Marathon/Half Marathon. Then, @voiceofcolleen graciously allowed me to kickoff the marathon/half marathon race with Mayor @freddiefornashville — I did ALL 18 corrals (25,000 total participants for the 5K/10M/half/full) with Colleen and the Mayor. After the race began, I made my way to the BEST CHEER STATION on the course - @lululemon and @6run5_ in The Gulch - to high five, cheer on, and encourage participants. Leaving the cheer station, I made my way to the finish line where I joined @voiceofcolleen DJ Pete to welcome home the participants as they crossed the finish line.

All of the smiling faces, tears of joy, handholding, dancing, the stories shared by spectators as they watched their love ones cross the finish line, etc. made for an unforgettable day — So. Proud. Of. Everyone. Who. Finished. The. Race. Your dreams, training, and hard work paid off. And to the spectators and volunteers, your invaluable support made your loved one’s dreams come true.

Full circle moment for me: I did this race for the first time in 2003 in honor of my mother who passed the year before. In 2013, The Bet with my dear friend @darrellsfreemansr redefined and reshaped my athletic/coaching journey. I participated in the race from 2003 to 2019. Yesterday, I watched each of the participants do the race for their why. So. Inspiring.

Thank you @runrocknroll Leah Van Horne for the honor of being the lead ambassador for this race for the third year in a row. Thank you Adam Zox (race director) and Leah for asking me to lead the warmup for the race starts. Thank you Colleen and DJ Pete for allowing me to spend the day with you. Thank you Scott for your leadership and great conversations this weekend. I am forever humbled and grateful.
