Throwback Thursday to my Senior Printmaking Project and Exhibition at George Mason University. The project features large scale collagraph prints based on musical resonance patterns created by a self-made Cladni plate. It was such a fun and daunting project. I look forward to more Printmaking explorations once my new studio is complete. Getting excited to create and to teach!

80 years old and going STRONG! 💛🪡🕺🏻

Many thanks to Master Pattern Maker, Franco Maselli, of the Dionysos Atelia in New York City, for a fantastic three-day workshop!

Franco has been a pattern maker for the industry for over 60 years having worked for MANY well known fashion brands, such as, Talbot's, Ann Klein, Liz Claiborne, and many, many more. He now offers his immense wisdom to up-and-coming designers by offering group workshops, as well as, one-on-one project intensives. Franco helped me learn his "rub-off" process to create a pattern from an existing garment. In the design world there is no reason to reinvent the wheel each time you create, but it's always good form to change a design to make it uniquely yours.

In this group of classes Franco helped me reimagine this vintage Italian linen blouse by making several designs adjustments to bring it to a more polished final piece. I have future plans for this simple yet elegant design!!

I cannot recommend Franco's classes enough. I'm thrilled with what I've learned and with the outcome. Franco is a absolute treasure, a budding comedian, and one FANTASTIC dancer!!!

Grazie mille Franco!!!

Many, many thanks for Julian Medina for hosting these amazing workshops in his studio and also to Julianna for all of her assistance! "She's so nice...." 🧵🪡💛

A little late in the game.. lol.... but this is my crazy, brilliant, funny, and very talented tennis crew! Love these ladies!!! L.O.B. = Ladies of Borchard. 🎾
Tennis has helped me through so much of life's challenges and in the process had helped heal my body from inside out. (Still working on it.) I'm blessed to be surrounded by so many amazing women!

Congratulations to Wu Yibing @w.y.bing for his incredible win here at the Mubadala DC Citi Open! What an incredible match against @iamgaelmonfils - two phenomenal players!!!

We first saw Wu play and WIN at the UTS (@u.t.s_tour - Ultimate Tennis Tour) in Los Angeles a couple years ago and then he disappeared. I had a chance to talk to him and ask where he went and shared that he had a serious injury. But he's BACK and I'm thrilled to see him competing again. Wu is exceptionally talented on the court and DEFINITELY one to keep your eye on!!

Congratulations Wu Yibing!!

We are proud to announce the Award recipients of the Annual Sincock Family Arts Scholarship for Outstanding Graduating High School Students. This is an annual event sponsored by the Thousand Oaks Kiwanis organization.

Each year, Austin and I are thrilled to offer these scholarships along with Kiwanian Jim Stephenson who generously donates in honor of his daughters. AND, this year, we had the additional generous support of our friend and photographer, Teri Weber. 💛 Collectively we were able to provide four $1000 scholarships. This is our 3rd year providing the Arts Scholarship and we are thrilled that it continues to grow!

This year's award recipients are:

Lucas Wienken of Agoura High School - Studying Musical Theater @ Utah University. 👏🏼👏🏼

Kayla Oliver of Newbury Park High School - Studying Studio Art, Art History and Art Therapy at UC Irvine. 👏🏼👏🏼

Emily Joseph of Westlake High School - Studying Dance (Ballet) & Business at Indiana University in the Jacob's School of Music. 👏🏼👏🏼

Christopher Bladon of Agoura High School - Studying music (saxophone, flute, piano, drums, and more) at California State University, Long Beach. 👏🏼👏🏼

ALL four students are incredibly talented, exceptional students, and just great people. We expect nothing short of great things from each of them.

Congratulations students!

We send many thanks to our supporters and to the WONDERFUL folks in the Thousand Oaks Kiwanis Charter. Thank you Patrick Connolly for organizing such an amazing event! The Kiwanians are an amazing group and do great things for our community all year round.

We are grateful.

Many, Many thanks to our wonderful friends Michael Young of Collector's Editions, and Tim Dickson of Cyclops Print Works, for the AMAZING tour of their printmaking facility! We all walked away with a much deeper understanding of the High Level of Fine-Art Screen Prints you create for so many every single day! We are so incredibly grateful!!

If you are an artist considering making a series of high quality reproductions of your original artwork, Michael and Tim are the ones you need to talk to. They are the BEST in the field!! Not to mention, just great people.

Thank you again from myself and my CLU Printmaking students.

I should not have played tennis today, fighting a nasty bug. 😥 But I thought I was on the up side. Anyway, I wouldn't miss this opportunity if I can help it. I AM a certified Christmas nerd. (Please note the T-shirt - which I actually wear during the year!)

I am so grateful for this amazing group of ladies. They challenge me and teach me tennis skills and strategy. They make me laugh, A LOT. I love each and every one of them. 🎾💛

Merry Christmas, Happy Hannuka, Happy Kwanzaa, and Happy New Year to you all.
