Ice cream x friends is already a great combo, but even better when it’s @kellysconeconnection x @jeffcrooms25 😊✨🍨 The cider donut sundae, one of the October specials at Kelly’s, has been calling my name. While many places offer them, the combo of Kelly’s homemade apple pie ice cream atop a cider donut from Whitney Donut seemed like a match made in heaven. While the sundae was delicious overall, the star was that apple pie ice cream!! 🙌 It had tremendous apple flavor and did give sufficient pie vibes as well. Would easily stand on its own, like how @jeffcrooms25 ordered his pumpkin Oreo, straight up in a cone. He raved, & those are flavors he knows well, so it must have been an excellent scoop. Be sure to check out his full review as well! I’m a newer fan of @kellysconeconnection admittedly, but they really do have excellent ice cream. Love the rich, yet not overly thick or heavy, texture to it. Creamy & smooth, but when mix-ins are in play there’s always PLENTY. Don’t sleep on the Fall flavors while they’re here 🎃🍎🥧🍁🍨 @kellysconeconnection - Hamden, CT #fallflavors #ct #cteats #ctfoodie #foodiefriends

🍦 This is NOT your regular ice cream shop! 👀 @kellysconeconnection in Hamden, Connecticut is always getting creative, & their September specials are proof! 🍂👇 🍋‍🟩Midnight Margarita 🥜🍓 PB&J + Fluffernutter Sandwiches — just in time for back-to-school season! 🍕🍦 New Haven Plain Apizza Slice — MY favorite! The creamy ice cream + crispy cone gives you the best of both worlds… but I’m warning you, this one is MESSY 😂 🥤 Fox on Park Cream Soda Flo — I haven’t had a cream soda since I was a kid, and this was such a nostalgic treat! And these aren’t around forever! The September specials are gone once October hits, so if one of these is calling your name, now is the time to go! And if none of these are your jam… no worries, pun intended! 😂 Grab yourself a cone from their diverse selection of homemade flavors & don’t forget their daily-made hot fudge + waffle cones made with local ingredients. 🍦 📍 Kelly’s Cone Connection SAVE this for your next ice cream run & tag someone you need to bring with you! 👇 #KellysConeConnection #NewEnglandIceCream #ConnecticutIceCream #CTFoodie #newenglandfoodie

Had a wonderful first visit to the beloved @kellysconeconnection yesterday :) I went specifically for the fourth and final special in a collab series with the incredible @thesidedishers . The New Haven Plain Apizza Slice. I had already been eager to try it, but after talking to Emily herself about it over the weekend, I couldn’t wait. Never mind the dozens of foodie friends who have told me get my butt over to Kelly’s!! 😂 To absolutely no surprise, it was pretty incredible. Before I get into the treat, let me start by commending them on the ice cream itself. This creation featured strawberry basil, and I’m quite critical of strawberry ice cream normally. Even when shops avoid artificial flavor, it is often very sweet. Kelly nailed her’s. The basil came through very subtly, but perhaps had I taken more bites without the added strawberry sauce I would have picked that flavor up more. The ice cream was not overly creamy or heavy which I loved. Terrific texture. On to the dish as a whole. That delicious ice cream was loaded into a slice shaped waffle cone base with cocoa powder “char” underneath, then covered with strawberry sauce, grated white chocolate “parm”, and white chocolate “basil leaves”. Again, how they managed to keep this from becoming cloyingly sweet, something I’m sensitive to, is beyond me and extremely impressive. The flavors came together beautifully, and it was simply a super yummy and satisfying treat. The vibe at Kelly’s was welcoming and comfortable enough for me to actually sit enjoy my ice cream there, something I rarely do 🥰✨ I can see why they have such a large loyal fan base, and I’m happy to say I’m officially apart of it, too! Hats off to @kellysconeconnection & @thesidedishers Definitely go grab yourself a slice!! 🍦🍕 #ct #cteats #ctfoodie #icecream #newhavenpizza

90s Kid Summer is still going strong and has anyone else just never outgrown their PBJ phase? I’m so obsessed with this flavor combo that I always try to recreate it when I get shakes and sundaes. So when I heard that Kelly’s Cone Connection in Hamden, CT was doing PBJ and Fluffernutter-inspired ice cream sandwiches for back-to-school in the month of September, obviously I had to check it out. I customized mine to be 50/50 both styles: one scoop of peanut butter and jelly ice cream with strawberry topping and one scoop peanut butter and fluff ice cream with marshmallow topping on a Whitney Donut “bun.” I was in heaven, nostalgically reliving all the great PBJ moments of my childhood while simultaneously making a new one with Ruby. Come check out this limited time flavor while it lasts! #connecticut #icecream #nostalgia #pbj #90sthrowback

@thesidedishers said they wanted to hear the jingle… well, you asked for it. 😂🍕🍦 @kellysconeconnection made ICE CREAM APIZZA and somehow expected @SpinelliJingles NOT to write a song about it?! AH-BEETZ! AH-BEETZ! 🎶 Is it pizza? NO!
Is it ice cream? YEAH! Strawberry-basil. Waffle-cone crunch. Chocolate “parm.” MAMMA MIA, WHAT?! 😂 And I only have one question… Can I put hot honey on it? 🍯😂 @kellysconeconnection + @thesidedishers — this one’s for you. ❤️ 🎵 Original jingle by @SpinelliJingles What should I jingle next? 👇 #AhBeetz #Apizza #NewHavenPizza #CTFood #ConnecticutFood IceCream SpinelliJingles
