Healthy soil is at the heart of regenerative agriculture, and sharing knowledge about the systems that support it is an important part of moving the industry forward.

Squid Juice™ is proud to sponsor Matt Powers’ R-Soil Conference, bringing together farmers, researchers, educators, and regenerative agriculture practitioners to explore soil biology, soil health, and practical approaches to building healthier, more resilient growing systems.

After such a great conference last year, we’re happy to be working with Matt again and supporting an event that puts meaningful conversations about soil and regenerative farming front and centre.

The science behind soil biology and the relationships between soil, microbes, and plants is central to understanding how growing systems function. We value opportunities to support the people who are researching, sharing, and putting regenerative practices into action.

We’re excited to be part of this year’s R-Soil Conference and look forward to the conversations and ideas it brings together.

Can distributed biochar projects access carbon credit revenue?

That’s the question we’ll explore at the July 1st Biochar On Site Monthly Meetup.

Topic:
Entry and Mid-Tech in Existing Methodologies: Selecting the Right Protocol for Your Distributed Biochar Project

Wyatt Catron of 3Degrees will share how flame cap kilns, mobile carbonization systems, and other field-based biochar approaches may fit within existing carbon crediting methodologies, including Climate Action Reserve, Verra, Rainbow, Isometric, and others.

Wihan Bekker shares how emerging digital tools can help practitioners collect and manage the MRV data these projects require.

For BOS practitioners, this has increasing relevance as Carbon credits may become a real revenue pathway that helps make local, place-based biochar work pencil out.

#Pentecost 🔥 🙏 Thanks to the @thephoenixconservancy for providing the opportunities for this type of educational outreach to teach people how to make biochar. Useful knowledge set to have around a farm. Especially if you have materials that you would be burning anyway. The kiln is called Ring Of Fire made popular by the educator Kelpie Wilson. @kelpie.wilson

Today was a good day at the mailbox! This is the outcome of a goodie bag and a giveaway win from the R-Future conference put on by @mattpowerssoil last month.

There were so many good speakers that I am still working to absorb and apply the information that was shared. This is a good time of year to take the time to explore additional perspectives and options before planning next steps. Even if it only solidifies your original thought.

@provenproteins - meat sticks that are actually good for you ... check out their story and the process. A great perspective on an everyday product that most wouldn't think to improve. Nice work.
