Before the night ends, I wanna take a moment and wish my dad a very happy Father’s Day! Anyone who knows my dad knows what an amazing, incrediby wise, strong and spiritual leader he always is and has been! Thank you, Dad for always leading and guiding, for reminding us to have adventures and have fun along the way while also having good drive and work ethics and being creative and holding onto Jesus above all else! We are who we are today in large part to you and I have to recognize and thank you for being bold and brave enough to break generational curses by making Jesus and family such important parts of our lives and we’re all enriched because of the example you are and have been! Love you dearly, hope you felt so blessed today, and hope you’re stuck with us for another 25 years😜! Happy Father’s Day, Dad🩶 from me and Sabella!!

The grief is still high today missin’ our bro Kevin - but I’ve never been more grateful for hope and life after death - I’ve always been so grateful for the sacrifice of the cross but this year, this weekend, as I worship and smile because Jesus loved us enough to make sure we would have hope after death and the sting of death numbed because we could know we’d be reunited with the Lord and eachother on the other side of eternity.. Ty Lord and Ty Jesus for rising again and that turned mourning into celebration and made Heaven accessible to us all 🩶✝️

Back to reality but wishing I was still here.🩶 unplugging for 4 days with people I love and adore was beyond needed. Wish life slowed down more often. In the meantime, grateful to have left with a heart full of love and laughter and joy and memories.

This week our whole family slipped away together to celebrate two incredibly special people, our Mom and Dad / Nana and Papa K! They both turned 70 this week (Dad on Thanksgiving and Mom just three days later), and we wanted to honor them in a way that truly reflected who they are.

Our time was full of everything they’ve built into our lives: laughter, a little friendly competition, adventure, stories and words that honored their legacy, a few tears, and so much more!

These two are the pillars of our family, and I’m beyond grateful to call them Mom and Dad, friends, role models, and the grandparents my babies adore.

The best is still ahead. Love you both so much! ❤️

I’ve never been good at goodbyes and this one hits hard since this was one of the few childhood memories and homes I still got to create memories in since moving stateside and having my daughter - it’s been so nice to have this place to share with my daughter and still create adult memories in with my grandparents.. hard to drive away knowing this is a final farewell to two people and a place that I’ll always cherish and have fond memories of.. goodbye Texas City and thank you to memaw and papaAJ for placing roots and giving me a place to visit and slow down & create core memories at.. ❤️‍🩹

End of an era - end of a chapter - end of memories in Texas city with my southern grandparents - never easy to say goodbye but I’m thankful you’re living a fuller life than what yours had become over the years.. thank you for all the joy you and memaw added to our worlds and both your absences will be forever felt. I’m blessed to say at 37 yo.. you leaving this world is the close of a chapter of me having grandparents this side of heaven.. how blessed and lucky was I to get 4 of the best and you being my last all the way to me being 37 yo. You and memaw have paved such a legacy and I hope to continue to make you both proud. Love you and will forever miss your light and joy and spunk..

We Moved to Tennessee… and family now looks like THIS 💙

I grew up visiting cousins, sitting by the lake, and soaking up every second of our family summer trips. But as a kid on Guam, that only happened once in a while. My cousins lived on the mainland.

Even when we were in SoCal, we moved to Seattle to be closer to my sister and her family. The kids to growing up with their cousins — was a dream!

Once my sister relocated to Nashville, the dream seemed to disappear. But then 2020 hit, and man did it hit the West Coast hard.

Gyms shut down. Restaurants were half-open. We couldn’t sit together as a family of six. Our favorite date spots didn’t feel safe anymore.

Meanwhile, my sister in Tennessee? She was going out to dinner and going to the movies. And it was a wake-up call for Ang and I. Add to it my parents had moved to Tennessee in 2020. And so did my other sister.

And a year and a half later… we followed!

Now we’ve lived in Nashville, Tennessee — and I can say this without a doubt. This move changed everything!

Family Now Looks Like:
🏕️ Summer Lake Trips with early mornings in kayaks
🃏 Card games with aunties and uncles
🔥 Campfires and cousin races
🐶 Rufus chasing Tasi around the backyard
🍳 Sunday lunch with Nana & Papa
🏊‍♂️ Lake swims where I still remind everyone who’s boss 😉

It’s a slower pace here. Life feels full again.

And occasionally on a Friday night? Ang and I can sneak off to a Nashville date night while the kids hang at home.

If you’re looking for more time with the people you love… If you want the kind of life where your kids grow up with their cousins just down the road…

Then maybe it’s time.
Time to call Tennessee home too.

My Favorite Family Tradition!

We all go to the mall and exchange names. We are given 45 mins to go around the mall and find something we want for $50. We all then come back together and with everyone around, we share what we want and the stores you can find them in. Then we have 45mins to scatter and shop for our secret Santa without being seen by others in the stores we have just learned people need to go into. Finally, on Christmas Day, we place our ballot / guesses on who we think has who and then exchange gifts. The person closest to the right answers wins. We do an adult round and kids round and it’s THE BEST!

My grandparents started this tradition when I was little because they didn’t want to get us things we didn’t like and it was easier to create a game for us all. I love that now the grands are just as into it as I was as a little girl.
