I had been lamenting to God about how tired I was of keeping up with all the details all the time and how I wished I could turn my brain off just for a little while. It wasn’t until the second time @kendra2shay threw her arm out in front of me to keep me from getting hit by a delivery person on a bike as we walked around New York City that I realized that God had heard me—there was not a thought behind my eyes when I was with her 😂 I love you, KeKe, my Baby Bobbi, my amazing cousin, my favorite actress. Thanks for making my 35th birthday one to remember! ❤️

✨️AN AUDELCO AWARD NOMINATION FOR BEST REVIVAL! #repost @actwithjamil - Thrilled to share that our production of The Mountaintop at Mile Square Theatre in Hoboken, NJ, has received an AUDELCO Award nomination for Best Revival! Written by the brilliant Katori Hall, this play has always held a special place in my heart. Having portrayed Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. onstage myself, stepping into the director’s chair gave me an entirely different opportunity to explore the man behind the icon. His humanity, humor, vulnerability, and the weight of knowing that tomorrow is never promised. A huge congratulations to our incredible cast, Hassiem Muhammad (Dr. King) and Kendra Holloway (Camae), along with Petra Hinds, our Camae understudy. Thank you for your trust, courage, and willingness to dig into the work. Creative & Production Team Scenic Design: Matthew J. Fick Lighting Design: Colleen Doherty Costume Design: Allison Esannason Sound Design: Carter “Roc” Mangan Projection Design: Michi Zaya Wig Design, Hair & Wardrobe Supervisor: Julyzza Santiago Properties: Em Grosland Scenic Painter: Jordyn Kramer Technical Director: Nate Hamm Production Electrician: Ian Lloyd Sanchez Stage Manager: John Concannon Assistant Stage Manager: Jasmine Hawkins I’m equally grateful to our designers, stage management, crew, and everyone at Mile Square Theatre who helped bring this production to life. Directing is never a solo endeavor. The work belongs to everyone who helped build it, question it, challenge it, and ultimately share it with an audience. Thank you to AUDELCO for recognizing our work and continuing to celebrate the contributions of Black theatre artists. Congratulations to the entire Mountaintop family! #AUDELCOAwards #TheMountaintop #MileSquareTheatre
