This is a long overdue post for Connotations of Fall. Huge thank you to all the poets who spilled their guts for the third installment of Eugene Poetry Seasons and a particularly warm thank you to our feature poet, @the_moon_remembers. Mikalina Kirkpatrick is a huge part of the community at @thehybridgallery and typically helps to facilitate space for other creatives while also being an artist and writer themself. It was special they were able to grace the stage and share work that is so close to them.

Connotations of Winter will be February 7th at the Hybrid, details to be announced soon.

Sustenance now brings writers together online + IRL! Not only do we learn via Zoom every week, but we gather locally each quarter in person across the US. ♥️

We’re also just about to announce our in-person annual retreat so make sure you’re on the waitlist if you want to come!

We can only take 40 new writers this January 15 so make sure you’re on the waitlist. We only open twice a year so don’t miss the opportunity to start 2026 with us. Link in bio. ♥️

Here we have Kendra Kay’s last poem for ‘Connotations of Summer’ and it has us wondering… How are the apples doing?

Kay will be sharing their Fall poems tomorrow (Saturday Oct. 4th) for the third installation of Eugene Poetry Seasons — a quarterly show dedicated to providing local poets a platform and safe space to share their work.

As we enjoy the last kiss of warmth before the Fall fully rolls in, let’s listen to Kendra Kay’s odes to summer. Equally cheeky and whimsical, it was a pleasure to have Kay grace the stage.

Originally from Texas, Kay made mention there were only two seasons where she is from. Having spent the past five years in Oregon, she has an appreciation for each chapter of the year and finds herself writing about the seasons. A perfect fit for ‘Connotations of Summer’.

Could have sworn this posted to my writing account too, but I guess not! 😅 Had the chance to perform @thehybridgallery which was hosted by @eugenepoetryseasons ‼️ Claudio got such a talented group together, everyone had their own distinct style, voice, and presence on stage. I feel so lucky and thankful to perform with such vibrant people, here’s to many more seasons filled with art and community 💌

Pictures by the very talented @m5n5d ‼️
