Kent Barker is the photographer behind the 50 Over 50 project, and the way he approaches his work is something you feel right away. He created the 50 Over 50 project to bring women together and give them space to be seen in a very real and honest way. When you step in front of his lens, there’s no pressure to perform or become something else. There’s a calm, steady presence that allows you to settle in and just be yourself. And from that place, something genuine begins to come forward.

What I also appreciated is how thoughtful the entire experience is. Everything is intentional, but it never feels heavy. There is laughter, there is conversation, and it feels natural. You almost forget you are in a photoshoot. It feels like you are part of something meaningful that is unfolding in the moment. And by the end, you realize it was never just about the photograph. It was about being seen, and being part of a story that is much bigger than yourself.

What an honor to be selected in Kent Barker’s 50 over 50 photographic exhibition series! The following is my personal reflection and a little bit of wisdom 😉. @kent.barker

At this stage, I’ve learned that real beauty has nothing to do with perfection. It’s about presence. It’s the quiet confidence that comes from surviving hard seasons, loving deeply, and showing up for others even when life feels heavy. Over the years, I’ve learned to care more about how I make people feel than how I am perceived. I’ve learned that strength and softness can exist in the same woman. I no longer chase approval or worry about fitting in. I’ve earned the peace that comes from knowing who I am. I’ve also learned not to take life too seriously. I have a silly side, and I love to laugh! To the women coming behind me: stand up for what is right and true, be kind, be curious, and never be afraid to be fully yourself.
