Repost • @kerriasm "Gather and Guard"

One of the three pieces I have in the @westerngallery New Western Talent online exhibit. This piece was inspired by a quiet evening by the lake. Surrounded by the tall reeds and noisy bugs you couldn't even see the water.

A few of my favorites by other artists from “In Rainbows”, the virtual exhibition curated by @westerngallery running through the end of May. Some of these pieces have already sold, but there are still some fantastic pieces available! "Create + Protect: Fashioning Safety in Times of Pandemic" is now on display at the @tculibrary and online! If you are on campus you can see the exhibition in-person through November 14th. You can check out the online gallery through the link in the @tcuartgalleries bio.

It was great working on this exhibition with @kerriasm and @sjparsons123 . It was a TON of work, but I am so happy with the awesome entries we recieved.

Also a BIG thank you to @brian.k.dickson for helping us put together the online gallery!

Rosa & Navarro by Kerri S. Menchaca, 13 x 13", Oil on Stainless Steel. Available 10/2 in #TexasWomenArtShow. DM or email for full preview 👀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Menchaca developed her style in realism under the guidance of Fort Worth artist Dennis Blagg. She says, “In nature light changes and the clouds morph into new shapes and eventually disappear. The beauty is undeniable but it is the temporary nature of a sky that gives it meaning. It is this experience that I strive to capture in my paintings.”⠀
