Tomorrow is the Meet the Artists event at the #museumofbigbend in Alpine TX for their annual Trappings of Texas art exhibit.

I'll be trading my hiking shoes for my #tecova boots and wining and dining with the best artists of the west.

Ummm... oh my goodness y'all. I was chosen as the Critic's Choice for Fort Worth Weekly's Best Artist of 2026!!!

Today I get to jury 12 artists who have been chosen for the Modern Masters of the West 2026 event in the Stockyards here in Fort Worth! I can't wait to see what these incredible artists have been working on.

The Modern Masters of the West exhibition is a central feature of Fashion Week Stockyards Style

Twelve juried artists from the Cowgirl Artists of America are paired with signature Fort Worth Stockyards retailers to exhibit original 2D paintings and drawings. Come down to the Stockyards and view the work and visit with the artist.

I was so incredibly shocked and honored to have been awarded the Best in Show for my paintings at the Museum of Big Bend's 40th annual Trappings of Texas Exhibit. It's the longest-running exhibition and sale of contemporary Western art and custom cowboy gear in the country.

And to add another shock.. I was selected to be the premier artist for next year's show!!! I'm truly honored and can't thank director Dr. Emily Wilkinson and curator Milo Frias enough. taken in Museum of the Big Bend by @kerriasm

Tonight is the start to the busy Fall Art Gallery season! My favorite time of year is basking in this cooler weather, the leaves turning various shades of orange and gold, bundling up in a nice cashmere sweater and sauntering around town for all the September art openings.

JK JK JK Let's go gallery hopping in 100+ heat drinking hot wine and pretending our makeup is not slowly melting off.

Starting tonight is the annual Historic Fort Worth "Preservation is the Art of the City" show. I'll have these two pieces, a graphite study and an oil painting in the exhibit. taken in Amon Carter Center at Lena Pope by @kerriasm

This painting explores the uneasy beauty of a familiar landscape after its expected comforts have faded. I think there is something so unsettling about standing at the edge of the beach when darkness is fast approaching and the crowds have gone. The ocean becomes dark and restless with only scattered pinpoints of light reflecting across its surface. For me it’s often these unexpected and slightly uncomfortable moments that resonate the most and beg to be painted.
