A few images from the figurative sculpture class I ran last weekend, creating a half life-sized figure. Thank you to all the new people who joined us, and the ones who have been before. Looking forward to the next class, I am thinking of trying something new and completely different! . . . #classes #learning #sculpture

An amazing weekend with everyone from uni (well nearly everyone!) The main reason for coming down to London was for the 'Collect' exhibition. It was great to see so many incredble prices of art and even talk to some of the artists as well! I think I have some more inspiration for my own practice as well as for the rest of my MA! We were luckily to also go to Westiminster Abbey and the Houses of Parliment (see my other post) as well as get to see the Incredible Cirque du Soleil show, the V&A and loads of other things besides! A total action packed weekend in London 🇬🇧 with just wonderful people! #contemporaryglassuk #contemporaryceramics #contemporaryglass #contemporarytextiles #handcarvedwood

This sculpture by Kerry Roffe reflects on the “Winter” of life—an ageing figure emerging from deep blue glass, fading into translucence. It references the slow erosion of memory through dementia, with the fractured form suggesting both presence and loss. This autumn, the Pyramid Gallery in York has been transformed into a vibrant celebration of glass and the seasons. In partnership with the Contemporary Glass Society (CGS), The Four Seasons exhibition brings together the work of 26 glass artists from across the UK, each exploring the enduring beauty and drama of Vivaldi's iconic concertos, 300 years after they were first composed. Open to the public until 1st November 2025, this inspiring showcase offers a unique opportunity to experience the changing moods and colours of the seasons through the expressive possibilities of contemporary glass. Using an array of traditional and modern techniques – from glassblowing, kiln forming and fusing, to mosaic, stained glass, casting and pâte de verre – the exhibition demonstrates the incredible diversity and innovation within today’s glassmaking community. @kerry.roffe @pyramidgalleryyork @contemporaryglasssociety #storytelling #sculpure #dementia #winter #storytelling #stainedglass #glassart #contemporaryglass #artinyork #pyramidgallery #britishart #affordableart #contemporaryglasssociety #fourseasons #vivaldi
