A special thank you to @only1shateria for assisting me behind the scenes.

I am grateful for the opportunity to share a taste of Ghanaian cuisine and my culinary journey with North Texas. 🇬🇭

From Ghana to Texas, flavor without borders.

🇬🇭 If you’ve been to Ghana, you already know.

Mango season. #Yooyi season (Black Velvet Tamarind). Sweet pineapples. Fresh Aluguntugui (#soursop).

A walk through Mokola Market is an experience on its own. The colors, the aromas, the sounds, and the taste of fruits picked at their peak.

Nothing compares to a juicy Ghana mango dripping down your hands, a handful of tangy yooyi, or a slice of Ghana’s unbelievably sweet pineapple.

This photo tastes like home.

Which one are you grabbing first?

Boarding school memories.
Shito & gari were survival.
Now it’s shito, gari, shrimp, and Chilean seabass.
Nostalgic, but elevated.

Who still craves gari and shito? 👀

Shito is a bold seafood chili sauce.
Gari is toasted cassava grits.

A Quickie
Sauté your choice of peppers, shallots, garlic, and cherry tomatoes in coconut oil. Blend the mixture, then transfer it to a container. Season with Celtic salt and a splash of olive oil, and store in the fridge.

This sauce is perfect for serving with eggs, kenkey, rice, or as a flavorful addition to your stews.
